Quintessence: The Blighted Venom

Quintessence - The Blighted Venom

Ah yep, it's a known "bug", if you'd call it that. It's somewhat of a short cut that I've been too lazy to change, heheh.

Also, note that once you have a save file, you may "skip" right to that second/normal title screen by pressing Esc to continue from a save file, saving the time of the real title screen's build-up.

Wow, that's a quick respond. I'm going to try out the game now. The music is so awesome! It's original too. So much movies though. Great story plot btw.

I'm a freshman... in highschool >_>

btw, I found a bug you mgith want to check out.

In the village of chapter one, it's one of the houses on the right side, it was after meeting at the doctor's house. I went in to get all teh goodies as usual, but when I checked one of the barrels is just ended the game O_O

that might not help much, but I didn't save >_> I'll try to play it again and get a screenshot of where it is.

@newcomer:
Thanks for your time! It is extremely heavy on cut-scenes as of now, most noticeably in chapter 2 where there's not much to do at all. Game-play starts from Chapter 3. c:

@monkey:
And ah, that's a strange glitch. I tried to look for it but couldn't find the source, though, so a screenshot or a more detailed description would be very appreciated. Thanks for reporting!

Here's a preview to a new town's WIP:

Still work in progress, and there're some mapping glitches on the houses and etc. Also note that in chapter 9, it may not be Spring/Summer as that screenshot shows.

By the way, was the brightness of the Winter white colour scheme annoy in chapter 8? I lowered all the colour tones a bit to help with that, not sure if it still came out blindingly bright.

Hey. I've just downloaded this, it looks cool. Since my project is crap, I can use this to help me see how it's meant to be done. The battle system looks fun and I expect the story to be decent as well. I'm about to play it now.

Just downloaded recently, read the first 4 and last 3 pages, didn't find this mentioned once... Incredibly important!

When you begin to fight in chp. 3, if you take damage, Lunair takes most, if not all of the damage, and dies very quickly. After the fight, she's no longer in the party list, but continues to appear unconcious on the ground for a few fights. Not sure how many exactly but I know she suddenly revives and joins you. Well if you proceed to the flooded map with the wooden board thing in hand, when she's KO'd, aka not in party list, the game locks up to where you cannot proceed, because she proceeds on her own. Thought this was worth mentioning.

Also, I'd like to know how many fights or what prerequisites need to be met in order to revive her.

Ah, that was a big fluke on my part. It is a new glitch that was caused by some changes in the system in the most recent release, hence haven't been mentioned before.

I am now uploading a fixed version to overwrite the current download URL. For those who are starting from the beginning with the current version, don't let anyone in the party die. :p

There is no prerequisites to revive Lunair - All party members are supposed to be revived automatically at the end of a battle. The fixed version I am uploading now mends that.

Thanks a lot for reporting! This is quite a major bug.

I beat the wolves! I just came out of the haunted house. I have to admit I jumped when that zombie girl appeares I thought it was a real zombie not an actor for it...

@windsaver: Woah-- Put that in spoilers :/. You'll ruin the suprise :wink:.
I finally finished the part of chpt. 8 after the carnival, and must say that it is probably the best part of the Chpt. 7-8 update.The wagon scene is a little bugged (wolf running through rocks, wagon going above trees) that take away from the aesthetics of the scene, but they are pretty minor. I'll give you a belated congratulations those last two chapters, and I'm sure Chpt. 9 will be just as interesting.

Very nice new BGM Reives!  I think it might be my favorite thus far, I've listened to it about 3 times now.  You did a nice job selecting the orchestral instruments and integrating all the different melodies.  The fading harp triad that continues throughout the piece is also very haunting and lovely.  I quite enjoyed it :)

I'm curious... approximately what percentage of your music is midi vs. mp3s/oggs?

@windsaver:
Woo, glad to hear that you got through that fight. c: And heheh, it's Quintessence; there are no big bad zombies! http://www.quintessence-tbv.com/forum/S ... nsmile.gif[/img] All in good fun.

@Neverplayd:
Glad ya get to finish it! The end of Chapter 8 is my favourite part of the two chapters as well, not to mention one of my favourite substories in game. And thanks a lot for the heads up on the wagon scene's mapping bugs - I'll try to have them fixed. I thought that the thing with the tree could've passed for wagon brushing through the leaves, though, but the rock's definitely a fluke.

@miss matcha:
Woo, a compliment on music from you means a lot. Thanks for listening! I'm looking at my audio BGM folder, and 25 of them are midi while 32 are .ogg. It used to be midi-heavy, but after I got a sound library I just couldn't pass up the opportunity for better sound quality. :p

I've been adding a few new related emoticons to the home forum now and then; feel free to drop off any ideas here.

I'll bet it's a wolf or bear or something that is not friendly and not cuddly. Vikon's not the brightest light bulb in the crayon box. That might explain why he expects it to not be cute and cuddly lol. Looking good. Love your storytelling, can't wait for more.
