Thanks for the input guys. And about that mini-game; I've changed the system now, and made it on-map instead of all picture manipulated. The original idea was that upon firing the arrow, the arrow will move to the center of the screen, while the target and background would zoom to a calculated coordinate and percentage such that it gives an illusion that the arrow in first person perspective is "shooting" toward the target, location based on bow rotation and etc. But it seemed quite inconsistent with the overall style, and as evergreen mentioned, the BG's a pain to handle.
And it really isn't that special, Lary; check out some of the contest projects right now with completely non-classical systems, some of which are non-RPG in its whole. :>
