Post What's on Your Mind

Jason

Awesome Bro

Wow that was my first post here in like a month... I do keep dropping by to see what's happening and such, just never really post anymore, busy life and shit

For the past week or so I've been digging into archetypes and the fantasy genre. How characters should be used to tell a story and whatnot. The problem is it's too deep for most people.

It's weird how here in the UK manual is still considered "default" and it's pretty much what 80% of new drivers learn. I don't see much reason to use manual transmission when all you're doing is driving around in a flat city (if you're driving around somewhere with crazy hills like Brighton then manual power might be ideal).

The best reason I can give for why I go manual is "because I enjoy driving" - manual transmission is rather fun to use and it's a nice game of fuel economy and engine efficiency. Makes me feel awesome to drive my car.

My first pancake always turns out different too. It sticks to the pan or it burns or it doesn't brown enough or something. I wonder why we all seem to agree that the first pancake doesn't turn out right. There's got to be an explanation.

Mega Flare, what kind of qualifier?

And in the seemingly random string of my browsing history and what I end up clicking on, I came across Sotheby's auctions the other day. This talk of manual cars in the UK reminded me of it. I thought that Sotheby's sold art and jewelry and stuff. But for whatever reason, it seemed like all they were selling at this particular time and place was old British and Italian sports cars.

My housemate gets angry when driving home from my work because there's a speed camera, which most people slow down for, at the bottom of a hill. If he manages to accelerate enough just past the speed camera he can clear the hill in gear 4 but regularly other cars block him from clearing the hill before he has to switch to gear 3. (Or something like that)

After reading it being similar to a game I kinda understand.

As someone who;s only driven manual,

you just subconsciously move the gear stick

and things happen

like

I don't even think "oh I better change gear"

I just do

and then

it changes

and

that's that pretty much;

I’ve been stuck at the car shop for 3 hours wasting my life away waiting to be handed my keys and then I remembered I haven’t been here’s in a while. Hi guys.

Sometimes I think, "I should make [insert fandom] game resources"
and then I think "Nah, that'd be stupid"
and then I think "But it'd be funny if I did"
"Maybe I should? Just for a day."
"I can post it under an alias."
"No one has to know it was me."
"Yeah. I'm going to do it!"
"Nah. I don't feel like it anymore."

I've been chasing down some potential business for the past couple weeks and all of them have fizzled out, leaving me with once again no work to do and the feeling of being pretty useless.

Going to have to keep at it until something hits. 2018 looks to be the first bad year for my company.

My best friend/brothers girlfriend's sister just died. Shes had cancer for two years. I don't even know what the fuck to say or do... My friend is up in London with her family...

Don't need to say anything, just make sure nothing is in her way to stress her out or upset her. If she's with family, then she'll be fine without people sending messages, being alone with just family for the time being.
