Something I'm good at is putting on an enthusiastic/interested front for anything. Potion can vouch for me here (cats the card game???). Recently it was a guy who's with a company that does bitcoin stock trading.
It's nice because showing even fake enthusiasm makes people happy about their projects and a lot of the time they start telling me how smart I am for following and "getting it", it's rare to find someone who actually understands what the hell it is you do on a computer.
Shame it's a skill that doesn't work over the internet. A lot of it is body language and reacting quickly to what the other person says so they believe it's a fast-paced conversation about their interest.
Probably why I try to genuinely be helpful and encouraging on the internet.

This is a massive leap forward in technology. A skyscraper can hover high above the surface. This will help protect the structure against earthquakes and tsunamis.
How does it work?
During the initial construction of a structure, an large anti-gravity plate is placed at its foundation. After completion of the structure the anti-gravity system is activated and set to a desired setting. The anti-gravity plate also a emits a tractor beam to hold the structure in place, and counter the effects of planet rotation. The building will maintain its facing and exact location.
How do people access a floating skyscraper?
Flying vehicles can land & park in the garage areas. Underneath the floating building is a gravity lift system. Simply stand under the building and jump upwards. You'll be pulled up to the 1st floor. To exit, simply jump from the 1st floor. The gravity lift will lower the person down slowly and safely.
Emergency systems:
Gravity plate is damaged, and building is falling.
All floating buildings have instant emergency thrusters. In addition anyone under a falling building will be pushed away quickly by emergency gravity beams. The building will gently land without hurting anyone.
Collision detection shields and tractor beams. Let's say a drunk driver or terrorist slams into the building with a vehicle. Military grade energy shields will block the collision. Option 2, if a vehicle is on approach vector at a dangerous velocity, emergency tractor beams will instantly slow down the vehicle. (Formally called the 9/11 defense systems)
All of the above details were pulled directly from my imagination. I originally got the idea from observing floating bricks seen in Mario Brothers for the NES (1989). I asked myself "How does that work?" Magic is unacceptable, scientific explanation is the way.
Again, my imagination is unrivaled. I did create an entire detailed fictional universe. I'm just reluctant to share my ideas, they'll most likely be stolen. Creating something is cool, but explaining it in absolute detail is my best feat. It's more believable.
Then again, I already know I'm wasting my time posting something of this caliber on HB Games... Shots fired back.

Hybrida, how does the anti gravity work? If it's skyscrapers, how do the thrusters work considering that it's a skyscraper? Where is the fuel kept? What happens during a hurricane or just regular high-speed winds? If there are lots of skyscrapers, how do they handle the wind tunnel between them considering wind shields would act like a sail? What stops them from spinning and picking up momentum? What stops people and objects from rotating in the gravity lift?
You're pretty much telling us you have the imagination of a fifth grader. I prefer your kind of imagination to the one most people have - which is sit around and think about 1000 years of lore for their fantasy setting - but to be really imaginative would be to think of how all these things would look and work in a functional world, make your conjured ideas undeniably believable.

There are secondary micro ion thrusters all around the skyscrapers, primarily along the corners to help with stability in case of an emergency. There are several large primary ion thrusters under the building to land it during an emergency.
1st floor at the center. The emergency thrusters can be powered by a solar reactor, giving thrusters unlimited fuel during the day, or thorium reactor. That particular reactor gives the building at least 72 hours of lift. It varies with reactor size and building size. It's not really fuel it's more like energy. Some military structures are capable of leaving the planet's orbit and settle on a nearby moon.

Winds over 7,500 km per hour won't have any effect. Most graviton tractor beams can stop a ship moving at Mach 30 in its tracks. (Of course inertia dampeners are on most ships, so no one would die from that event).
Nothing. It's advisable not to spin jump or twist when using a gravity lift. Jump straight up or down. Never jump in an angle direction. You won't end up on your head or anything. It slows your movements also via small gravimetric waves. They tickle...lol.
