Good work on your zombie sprite. Can't wait to see that fully completed (with all the
walking poses done).

I think the green in the soldier is to bright if you compare it with the rtp one. It doesn't has any dark shades.


Good that your intro is comming along, waiting for yout tech demo, I'm really interested.

It's sad that I'm not a scripter :( , if I was able do it I would help you with your request :blush:.

Thanks. There isn't a set date for the demo yet, but it is ready, apart from a few unfinished sprites.

The soldier does look a bit brighter than the RTP one, but in actual fact, I used the same pallet. I think you're right, though, I might have to darken it.
Yeah, like I said earlier, the tech demo is ready, but for a few sprites.

Also, I might have found a script that could help with the blodd splatter system I need. I'll edit this post, or add a new post when it's done.
 
wow, im not a zombie fan but i am a fan of games with alot of work put into them. Good job, looks like you actualy care about your topic and game

Nearly completed the front view(still got to do the gloves) and I've darkened the pallete of the green shirt and trousers. Hows it look? Better?
The intro is still coming along well, I now only need to complete the battle scene between the zombies and the army and the telephone call to the president. Then all that should continue nicely into the begining of the tutorial mission that is already made.

You see that the legs have barely any shades at all. You almost cann't see where his knees are.

you've just swapped palletes, maybe you should make the knees stand out more clearely.

Thanks, I am working hard! I see what you mean now. I'll do a bit of editing later. What do you mean 'a sneak peek'? What of? The intro? The characters? If you ask me, I'll see what I could knock up. I have got a video of Joe fighting the complete zombies on the test map, if you want to see? It shows how everything runs.

Sorry to double post, but I have a few updates.

-----Update-----

I haven't done much work on the intro for a while, other than lining the zombie army and the human army up, and mapping the battlefield. I've decided to use the 'New Particle Engine' by arevulopapo so that I will not need to make character sets for the fires when the lab blows up. Other than that, I have been doing some spriting and working on the first mission.

I haven't explained yet how the game will be released. Rather than having to wait probably years for a complete version, I will release the game in 'missions'. These missions are like the chapters in an RPG game, with a little bit of plot and storyline at a time. So far, I have a rough idea about what happens in each mission, and I think that the game will be split into about 16 missions.

Anyway, the spriting is going well and I have a small preview of all the zombies I am working on so far, and what they wear:

First of, zombies don't have hair. As they are infected and start to decompose, the hair rots, and the skin on the top of the head becomes weak and flaky. This means that it can no longer hold the hair in it, and it falls out. (yeah, I've done some zombie research  :grin:) Secondly, you do have a point about zombie genders, but it isn't really important to the game, seeing as you're killing them too quickly to be worrying about whether they are male or female.

lol  :smile: . You've actually bought up a point there without knowing it. At the moment, the zombies don't speak (as in, random words) they just moan and grunt when you shoot them, or they attack you. Do you think they should talk? I personally prefer zombies that only make nosies, and not ones that are shouting at you and distracting you from the actual game.

Ah, another update time!

First off, I have a screenshot from the tutorial mission! It shows the power cut, and Joe stuck in an apartment. It's not quite finished and I know it's not that exciting, but I just thought I'd show it off:

The torch image in the picture is not by me, nor is it final. It's from the Project Zelda Engine and it's just a placeholder until I get around to doing a new one.

Also, I've finaly got round to doing some art for Joe. Yes, it's not all that good, but I drew it in MSPaint, and I used a mouse. It might go into the intro sequence, but any cosmetic details like that I will do later. Here it is:

I don't think he is, (I'll let him speak for himself though) but he does have a script request he would like to be filled.

Ok, I'm kind of bumping this, but I have got some info. Has no one got any more comments on the screen or the drawing? I was looking for some criticism.

Secondly, I won't be able to work on Last Man's Stand for another week, because I am going on a trip. Therefore, there will be no more updates for a week or so. I'm sorry about this, but when I return, I will try my hardest to get a new updated demo out.

Its almost the same title.
Its a zombie game.
Its all in a city.
Story?

And its the last man standing there.
