Okay so after seriously sitting down and playing this game I came to this conclusion, these things need MAJOR work action, like now.....
Also maybe two anit event lags are causing the lag.....
1.NOOOOOOO My 1280x780 screen! You should put in an option to go full screen or not
2.Luna I have to teach you something once we get done here?
3.Patience is the key at "a" time like this
4.The credits are annoying if you want to show Luna after every page it should at least show her making way towards the cave
5.Where's the damn option to skip.....I want to play!
6.Um.....you say thanks for playing at the end of the demo.
7.didn't I just go through some credits....nooooooo!
8.it looks like you attempted to pull off the old school, like "You may find what you seek." "Not ready are you." stuff, but it's not quite there.
9.ROFL I almost thought Luna walked in on those devils convo, and was about to get owned XD.
10. lol the uh guy already knew what the the king was going to do so why did he say "What have you done?" lol
11.Muhuhuahhaha, lol
12.I can move around while Askar is walking out
13.Why does that annoying flame cackling play throughout three maps?
14.Sir there has is what seems like a full scale assualt.....doesn't make any sense to me
15.Waiiiiit How'd the king walk in if there is fighting outside
16.Waiiiit King Shalma just said he doesn't want his dragoon initiatives killed, so why wouold he say, "I'm scared they might try to corrupt her." Instead of kill her?
17.OH MY god is this cutscene still running? Spruce it up abit, right now I'm bored to hell fromn watching the kings talk
18.Wait I thought he was hiding his Dragoons, why in the world would he send her on a mission?
19.Lol I can move around as the king while the guard is leaving lol.
20.Um she hit her head and came into a KH Journey to the Heart sequence?
21.Oh god another loooong cutscene......
22.What, "how am I, a lonely girl." lol
23.NVM
24.NVM
25.Okay I'm getting upset there's been no playability for like an hour....introduction aren't supposed to be this damn long
26.Finally some playability...unfortunately you give the playe no indication of where to go....so I must walk...
well that's all for today I'll probably be on with more tomorrow so see you then.
Overall a good game, it just has certain annoying things.
This game gets a 5\10 from me.

Over all seeing what you wrote about all the cutscenes. I never said there was "Playable" content in the actual game. Hell No, I'm not letting people test the dungeon that isn't finished, that I why i gave people the tutorial.

You want to help fix grammar, be my guest, I'll listen to what you say, but Luna has her own personallity traits as being stupid, smart, naive, arrogant, innocent, and many others, she is a mixed personality character.

The talking between the kings plays an important part in explaining the situation around Kailis, it is also the start of an alliance betwen the Wyvra and Kailisians... listening and paying attention to what they say actually drives detail into what could and might happen.

Luna walking into the Exvisians conversation is probably on the part of lag, the player graphics should change before transitions... I have a friend helping with an antilag script.

I've put a black screen behind the credits, but it doesn't seem to want to show, I will fiddle with it tonight.

Is 8, really anything bad, Lokii, IS OLDSCHOOL.. Point, he is old, he is wise, so I gave him the classic wiseman/yoda personality.

I will go into depth about why the Exvisian says "What have you done" the orignal plan was to harness the power of the Destiny Soul Crystal, Askar's book was a spell that taught him to break anything, including it, seeing him break it as a way to harness a new kind of power was unexpected. Notice the hesitance in the Exvisian guards voice when he said they found the book..

The Muahaha, yes, just for kicks :P This will be a part taken out when game is put into voice overs. Again I never said the game was 100% serious, I tend to let there be some funny things to lighten it up some... All serious is a no no... gets boring fast.

You are allowed to walk around, in fact I encourage it, just to let people look around and stuff, you can't leave till he does though.

Crackling flames, well considering they didn't have lightbulbs back then... can you guess what it is? It's fire from 1 the candles and fireplace, 2 from the white light things in the exvisian place, and the torches you see and pass on the way to speak with Longcrest.

Fullscale Assault, if you read anything that they said at the beginning, Shalma says there has been a mass genocide (Massive amount of killings or murders) of Kailisians, then he interrupts him and tells him that over half of his kind outside the fortress have been murdered, so the guard is relaying information that proves what Shalma is saying is correct, if there is a typo, say that instead please... again Pay attantion to details.

The wyvra's let him in, they can use the teleportal shrines like any other Kailisian, Wyvra, or Exvisians... remember all the races were friendly towards eachother, so it isn't common for them to do this. He is telling him information he saw on his way there, and now wants to do something about it.

Dragoon intiates, dragoons in training without their Wyvra Companions, what Luna is before she meets Reyvk. Dragoons are one of the kailisians main military fighting personnel. All of his dragoons and their wyvra companions have been killed off by the Exvisians, so he is putting any initiates in hiding so they won't die and can use them later on in the battles against the Exvisians. Luna is the only only one he can't find, yet he had a plan for her, just to "test" the prophecies. Luna is powerful, and Shalma is very smart, infact to smart, if you wish for me to spoil a part of the story later on, I can, but only through MSN.

Again, Luna is special, she is part of the prophecies, and Shalma wants to test her, if she can succeed then the prophecies will have been pulled off. That is why he wants to send her on this, as well she is their best initiate if you read that from being bored...

The king is not supposed to move, I need help creating an event system for cutscenes to disallow movement, I have tried a lot of things, but can't fix it... Give me a shout if you can help with that.

Luna is in a dream when she falls, she is knocked unconcious, but her mind and spirit are drifted away into the Destiny Soul Crystal's Santuary. They are explaining more about the future of Kailis if she doesn't do something to fix it... explaining her mission/destiny.

The entire demo is a cutscene to introduce the first game of the entire 3 game series, and the first episode, ofcourse it will be long... I also said it is 30-40 minutes depending on how fast you read, I never said there was playable content except for the tutorial.

Luna does not know of Reyvk at this point. She is still alone. She does already know Rikki though, but he does not follow her, he goes on his own mission, so she would still technically be alone if Reyvk hadn't met her at the end of that sequence.

Krio, and other unknown words, they are Wyvran, I have a glossary of words I started if you would like to see it sometime.

If you want plability, use the tutorial, that is why I added it. When we get breeze graphics finished on here, I definitely think that we will add some more things maybe allow you to fight some things in the actual game. I did take out needless scenes, there are actually 2 deleted scenes, because they were covered by the tutorial. If you can help with any thing I stated as a bug, the please do so. Want to help with making dialogs better, please contact me and I will hire you for the job and change things as long as they don't drive the story away from what it is trying to point out.

I'm going to look into the game tonight and try some things to fix lag, it will be a few days maybe before I re-release this, I have lots of things to take care of with school, my new car, and jobs since I moved last month.

I'm sorry if some people were disappointed there is not playable content, but there is 1 dungeon in the first episode, and every episode at that... So it will wait until the release of the game, hence why it was not added. I'm constantly looking for ways to make the game better, if you have suggestions, feel free. I will explain things as they are now and maybe it will change your mind. I like the critique, just try not to be to harsh, this is the first demo after all, what do you expect, no game is perfect, ever.

EDIT:
Here is proof I get the amount of FPS I stated before. This is in test play, I don't go fullscreen in testplay, but I think I know what is causing that and I plan on removing it. I don't remember what specs my computer has at the moment, I bought it from my dad, and he built it for gaming, to play World of Warcraft laglessly, and many other games that cause a great deal of lag.
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b347/Axerax/FPS.png[/IMG]

As for the megaupload thing. I said once my orignal upload host is done being under maintence, I will put it there, Box.net doesn't allow uploads over 10mb each, yet you have a huge amount of space, so I can't upload there, savefile is just as bad as megaupload... I'm sorry I had to put it on there for now.
~Axerax~

It may be a few days, but I think we may have found a solution to make the game smoother, less chopy and laggy. So I hope this works. as well I will be fiddling with maps to work with the new intro so it isn't all reading ;)

Hello all, I felt like I should give a little update. I'm sure many of you are wondering how the Breeze conversion is going. Well I have some 1 framed sprites that I would like to show you, our spriters have worked very hard on creating these characters over, original spriters will be credited, but the entire conversion deserves a helping applaud to the outstanding work they have done.
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b347/ ... zeCast.png[/IMG]
Some sprites have even undergone complete wardrobe changes, to suit their characters better.
I will add more to the cast line as they are finished, but please know we are all working very hard at trying to make this possible. Thanks for being dedicated fans :) As well, do note that not ALL of the sprites that have been made are on here, some I would like to keep a secret for a bit... We have a lot more than listed completed... this is just the general cast which play a big part in the game.
~Axerax~

hmm i really dont like them sprites... the sprite work is good its just too small for details :D

but i suppose that its cool.

also the thing with the intro demo... BIG MISTAKE! it means people that do not like that first 40min will not want to play it again. I think the best thing to do is get a demo out soon... even if its only 10 min long just to show its not all boring text :D

good luck :D

Unbelivable...

Do you play games at all? Because that was probably the stupidest remark I've ever heard.

I've been playing a game called Luminous Arc recently, and I've been in maybe 10-14 battles out of the 10 hours I've played the game, the rest has been... well what do you know... dialog... The 40 minutes and the extra 10 minute or more tutorial suffices for more than enough playable content for people in this demo... We are however releasing a new demo after the breeze conversion is finished, it will have some extra stuff to it, the promised extra playable content, and many other surprises.

Back to the subject at hand... Some people like story more than graphics, and I personally feel the same. Games aren't about the best graphics, a lot of the greatest games ever made had shitty graphics. If you don't know some basic fundamentals about RPG's, you don't need to be making them.

First you need a well developed storyline
Second you need well developed characters with personalities and traits
Third you need graphics to accompany the game, you don't need the best as stated before!
Fourth you need Audio, better the quality, the better the soundtrack.
Fifth comes anything "extra" such as special effects... these should be the least of your concerns.

Personally, I'm rather tired of people who don't enjoy RPG's for what they are, they are a Role Playing Game... Role as in you playing the role of a hero/heroine, like an actor of a play... Playing, as in playing the role of the hero/heroine, telling their story.... (Oh look that word again... Story...) Except, it is for a Game... Coincidence? I think not!

Don't complain because I have enough content and story to pack into 40 minutes of dialog, I didn't create the game for you, I created it for everyone, you can't please everyone, and if you aren't pleased, I sure as hell am not going to try and meet your needs with that kind of attitude. Complaining about something like that has got to be the biggest cry for attention I've ever seen, treat people the way you want to be treated, jeez.

It is one thing to suggest cutting it up or spacing it out like G-man has, but flat out saying what I have does not count towards content for a game demo, you've gotta be f**king sh**ing me, who died and made you dictator to say that? And yes, I am pissed, I am very pissed... I am taking this as a personal attack, simply because I don't go badmouthing your game or anyones game for that matter, and I don't appreciate your two-faced attitude, so don't play all nice to me at one point, then go and say stuff like this another time.

How many games have you played that don't have long cutscenes, or long times of narrated/voice acted text? (Have you read a book recently, what do you think RPG's usually derive from? An explosion graphic that sparks their imagination? No, a story and stories come from books.) You don't see many, atleast not in the RPG department, I've never seen an RPG without a ton of dialog, hell, it is the only way to see how characters develop in most games.

If you don't want to sit through it, don't play it! If you have a suggestion on how to make it better, go ahead, but don't flat out speak illy for everyone, cause the fact of the matter is, you don't know what people think... Most of all, if you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all, don't counter this onto me, I am defending my position for my game!

If they sit through it again to see the entire game, to understand it more, that is their choice, not yours. If you sat and read it all a couple times, just like a movie you would notice things you missed at first, you'd understand quite a few deeper meanings in the game.

Also playing this new game of mine, I've already sat through plenty of 20-30 minute dialog sequences. This game probably has more cutscenes than any game I've ever seen, yet, I would classify this game as one of my top favorite RPG's of all time... and that is hard to match with me.

Finally... I highly doubt my demo to show off everything I've accomplished with my team is as far from not being a demo as possible. A demo means it is a demonstration of game mechanics and story. I introduced both in more than big enough helpings.

I am however, on a different note, working with my team, we are going to be releasing a new version of this demo with more playable content, a new playable introduction, and a smoother transition into cutscenes so it isn't all text right away, by cutting it up and revealing certain parts at different times. This has already been talked about, you of all people should know I've been doing this...

One more thing... If you think the text is so boring, then why the hell are you even interested in my teams game?
You make it sound like you and all of your team is competing against me, personally I don't care! I don't go and say "my team's work is better than yours", "I don't like your template", "My team can do a better job than your team" or some crap like that in any subtle way like you've been doing...

I can't help that is the shape the templates are, if you want to complain about the style, go whine to Green Raven, he created it, not me, my spriters have worked hard, very hard on these sprites.
(I honestly think it is one of his best templates ever)

Do you have any real reason why you don't like the sprites? Or do you think your spriters can do a better job, again, I really don't care what your team can do, they may be better than someone else and their work is great, but to be honest... I'm not in a competition here, I just want to entertain people on this forum... so stop with the competition bulls**t, please.
Thanks
~Axerax~

Well i tell you what... let leave this again... me and you dont seem to be able to see eye to eye on this forum.

I do like good stories.. I mean I LOVE good stories. thats what gets me hooked. I know we have not seen much of the game and things will change but it just felt a little sloppy. I never said that graphics where important, but they do help to hide some bad sections of a game.

Im sure that LOADS of people will love your project. maybe I will play the next demo and I will like it to. Its just.... at the moment, for what we see, 6years seems a long long time. DONT GET ME WRONG. I think that there are lots of good ideas in here. I just dont feel they where all pulled off very well.

ALSO.. you seem to have a way of twisting what people say. I never said it never counted as a game demo! what im saying is! "I dont believe you show your game in the best light. I can get the story by reading your post. what i cannot see is how to battle, funny traits and emotions" I think they are VITAL in a game demo.

and about the "2 faced attitude." I was never overly nice about your game. What I told you at first was based on playing 5 min of your game and turning it off. It was only when i installed the font and played for real did I see the points I was making now.

*Confused* what is that about a cry for attention?

about the book comment. the bio for the main character is longer then the whole demo of text. What we do is compress it... ALOT! and get it down to 2 - 3 lines.

I never slagged your game off... I said what I think needs changing. Im sure if a lot more people were like me they would have said the same is. The truth is... most people on the forum dont say anything because they can easily go over to the next thread and try that game... and so on till they get a game that they like.

What a ego trip classing your game as one of the best RPGs of all time... If thats what you believe then cool :)

im glad that you will be releasing a more streamlined demo. If you are going to be doing this i dont understand why you are going off on one as thats what I suggested ?

And im not competing against you... are you STUPID lol... 1st your games at a end, if im going to compete it would be against a project new like the one im on. 2nd we are doing totally different styles of game? haha mad person!

I dont say mines better or we can do better. Im saying YOU can do better then what you have.

I never said that I dont like the sprites that have been made.. i dont like the level of detail the template allows...

well thats all i really wanna say to you. as i find you a bit of an annoying, little, whiny brat... I like your game. I DONT LIKE HOW ITS PRESENTED.

and hahaha

thats all...

Whoa now that post obviously took some time I think everyone just needs to be friends, the sprites look good for that style, although Axe, Xcuma was just offering his opinion...
EDIT:Whoa he posted the same time i did, did not see that post above me O_O I smell smoke...

What a ego trip classing your game as one of the best RPGs of all time... If thats what you believe then cool.

Again if you read what I said earlier, I was talking about Luminous Arc, NOT my game.

I think the best thing to do is get a demo out soon... even if its only 10 min long just to show its not all boring text

You just said there that I need to get a demo out soon, I already have one out. That is why I was mad the most about. You made it seem like my demo out now is not "worthy" of such praise.

Cry for attention
Yes, you left a comment on something wrong, but no suggestion on ways to fix it, if you did that I'd be completely a happy person, but the fact you didn't is another reason I got mad.

I don't want to condense my character bios and such because there is no need to hide facts about characters whom people will be playing.

I'm calmed down some now, but still you should watch how you say or word things on the internet, because no one can tell emotions from the internet unless someone tells you.

I dont say mines better or we can do better. Im saying YOU can do better then what you have.

Again, you sure make it seem like it at times, bragging about your teams abilities can actually make some people think, you are saying you're better than them... Why not just say you know I can do better than what I have, instead of just pointing out a flaw and not helping fix it with a simple suggestion like that.

I never said that I dont like the sprites that have been made.. i dont like the level of detail the template allows...
Okay you said that, but you also said this....
hmm i really dont like them sprites...
You said the level of detail was to small for the sprites. Why not say this instead.... "Hmm, I really don't like the style of those sprites... Their to small for a lot of detail."

I'm through here, I'm about to get a moderator to delete the last 5 posts, as they were absolutely pointless to the project thread and I don't want it being cluttered with this crap.
~Axerax~

before you do this... let me just say I did tell you what i think would fix it... the other demo... I was speaking about the demo because its not often you play a rpg demo that gives you the start of the story (you do on RMXP) but i dont know why...

lets leave it:)

Axerax I think the sprites are awesome. Anyone who critisises... well it will always just come do to preferance between RTP and breeze styles characters. It will obviously be a huge amount of work but your game will be a lot more original in the RMXP community for it.

Personally I thought the intro was a ad long, so Xcuma had a point, however mis-directed and offensive you may have found it to be. I would never ask you to cut the whole intro when you have obviously put so much work into it.

I think most people will be more appreciative with an updated demo and the new sprites.

About the lag I was experiencing, a lot of it could be due to my computer. Could hardly buy a better one at the time but it is really starting to show it's age. I don't know how bad lag is for everyone else.

Is it just me or did you have a massive post here that dissapeared? :/

yes me and axe had a little.. " disagreement " but its sorted. I like the breeze better then RTP... but I just thought there where better options (in my opinion)

and i never said cut all the intro... just break it up more and get rid of the stuff thats not important... (in my opinion again)

We did have a big disagreement, but we fixed our differences. The breeze style has been very beneficial, in many departments, such as they are unique, cleaner, don't need so much detail, can show great range of emotions, and easy to animate. They also have flaws which RTP and others could make up for... Like lack of a lot of detail, they are small, bodies are short, limited colors as in they are usually on a light color pallet.

No one suggested cutting it up. That was my own decision, fixing the game like this will provide a needed update and time to make the game better. I my self, disliked how I always had to sit through the intro just to find bugs, so spacing it will save me time, since I can walk past enemies or whatever to get to areas. Also I think it will provide a deeper outlook on the game seeing the characters in action, and how certain events line up in the time line for the game. I'll give you an example... Luna in the Sanru Mountains looking for Reyvk, is one of the first things in the game. While seeing Luna as a little girl and the Destiny Soul Crystal's Sanctuary is after this, but as that is going on, so is Askar planning to destroy the Destiny Soul Crystal while Luna is in the Sanru Mountains... you see what I mean. A lot of the events and cutscenes you saw, were not lined up correctly, thus the update will provide a better distinction of time within the game.

Lag is a problem, it is the bane of all games. I know a few people who have had 7-10 FPS the whole time, well I have managed to work with them, and I've gotten around to fixing it so it runs not only smoother, but at least 10-20 FPS for them, or so it says on my computer, sometimes I run at a good 40FPS now... and that hardly ever happened... I've changed the battle system to lite to reduce lag there, and changed the way messages are sent, so it should help all of you! :)

Removing pieces from the intro is not possible, simply because you would lose a vital piece of information that will make other things clearer later on, as opposed to making the game confusing, everying is said to make a point later on... So this I can't do, maybe I can make them seem more exciting and I hope I can with the whole breeze revamp.

As another side note, we have a lot of spriters now, but currently I need a spriter who will do breeze sized monsters, such as dragons, bats, and rats and stuff. Our spriters have plenty on their plates right now to be doing this, so anyone who is willing to do that please step forward we could seriously use you!
~Axerax~

Hello all, I currently have a quick question, that would possibly add more content to a the game and allow a demo of the first dungeon for everyone, without releasing the game.

Currently I was speaking with my musician about this, and I've been thinking about it for a few days now. I want to take a small poll of how many people would like to see the First and Second Episodes combined into 1. This means, more widespread cutscenes, not all condensed like they are now. I can expand on the story more. Two dungeons, more characters, more story, more action, and more of a continent full of action and danger to explore.

I can't promise how soon both would be completed, but I can promise, you would see the first dungeon a whole lot sooner than if we were to wait for the first episode to finish! It also means more music, and a whole lot more fun!

If we get enough positive votes towards this I am going to start reworking the entire frozen continent for the 2nd episode, YES a frozen continent!
It is one of the largest continents in the entire game, so it plays a huge role!

So please, let me know what you think we should do, combine both and release demos for portions of the 2 together over time, or stick to the first episode and finish it first?
Sincerely,
Axerax

I don't understand what that meant. The 2nd Episode introduces more playable content than the a lot of story like the first one did. There will be about 6 new places to explore and develop characters more in it, i can spread what is there in the first episode throughout it, as well as add on with the new sub character. I just want to know if I should combine both of them to make the game from being about 2 hours and 30 minutes to a close 5-6 hours instead. I personally think people will enjoy this more though.. I know I would.

So you think yes on the combining? It would definitely give more, I could even finish the first dungeon sooner than anticipated if we do this. I could just save some new puzzle ideas for the next dungeon and mini dungeons instead.

It seems, to me, as if all you are doing is doubting yourself.

You have one of the most promising projects on the board - if you think that a particular course of action is reasonable, then do it.

Don't ask what other people think; it's your project and you seem to be doing well enough, so far.

Don't look for approval in fear that people will lose interest or be angry. Anyone who would fault you for trying to release a better product is someone whose opinion doesn't matter, anyway.

That said, do what you feel is best.

Good luck with this project, I am looking forward to its completion. :thumb:
