I was using RTP. It is over used and I wanted something new and interesting. I'm going to try and put a mildly serious nature to this "cute" style. So far it has been very successful.

I can't wait to show off the Velli Isles when the world map is completed.

Yes Makio Kuta is in fact drawing for us, but she is trying to soften up on the pointedness to accommodate for the breeze style and Kailis itself.

For now though, that is all of anything from the text that anyone will see for a while, even that exact scene there won't look the same, so don't think you've seen it all, it is far from finished :)

:) Well I'm glad I have you working with us, your work has been nothing but amazing. I'm also gonna update by telling everyone I have been remapping the Velli Isles, they are almost done, i will start work on the White Sheet after a few more things are made :)

After replaying the demo I dont mean to sound stupid.... But does the story of this game mean its Just like a Snes game, Kinda like zelda with add ons?
 
I don't know what you are trying to ask.
My game making was inspired by years and years of game play from NES to N64 at the time, and now I have plenty more. I basically looked into concepts, strategies, story twists, and character developments to see how they worked them. Eventually I started writing out Kailis and trying this all out on my own.

Kailis was not taken from any game I've played, I honestly don't see how I could have taken an idea from a game I've never played... then again no idea is new any more, it has all been done before in some way. I will say a couple of my main ideas on what to start with were inspired by Final Fantasy 5, specifically, but nothing was "taken" from any game.

In my personal opinion, SNES and N64 were in the pinnacle age of great RPGs. Graphics were not "everything", story was. That is what I went on to make Kailis. I still live by this code... Story first, Music Second, Graphics 3rd. Obviously you need all 3 to make the game and then some extras.

The game does take a few aspects on how things can be used as tools, but the way I incorporate them is completely my own. The game idea is my own, the character designs are my own, everything that has gone into making this game the way it has been displayed and explained was made by me and now the help of my team.
 
well it is all about 1 person chasing crystals and then finding out shes linked to them,
I dont know but i bet you save Rikki or Rikku in there from a big man that wants to take over the earth
 
Nah, I'm not that stupid. I guess you see a lot of things that aren't there. I have plenty of HUGE twists that will actually make many fans mad. And some things you won't see until later in the series. But no, I can assure you Rikki (who is Rikku, final fantasy 10? where did that come from) (It's pronounced Reekee anyways) or Reyvk won't need to be saved from some big man. You aren't chasing after crystals, you are chasing after living essences of the destiny soul crystal, it is a living creature with a soul in itself and 9 separate souls that form it. You are chasing after Soul Shards, to reform it before your world is destroyed, but that isn't the main plot behind the series, there is much more.. that I haven't even spoken of. I am not using the crystal theory, I revised it and changed a lot of things with it.

Just wait and see what happens and how the story and characters develop out more later on in the episodes. I am glad there is a peak in interest on what might happen.

I like the way you think, though with how small the actual sprites are, we can't sprite it very well, maybe I can do that with animations... cause I gotta shrink them to "omg" 25% of their original size. The RTP were shrinked to about 50%. But yes I do like that idea :)

It won't be very hard to sprite it, especially if you're willing to go the extra mile and make the blood able to land on different surfaces. Then you can just make red blobs and let the stains on the floor do the rest. It will be a bit of trouble to make it that way, but it would be a very good addition.

I could possibly attempt such a system, but it will probably take a while :p

Oh and just a little comment, that outer glow on the HUD makes it look REALLY sharpened, perhaps you should re-consider it?

I'll see what my spriters think about it. Ultimately it is up to them. For now we are focusing on just getting them done first then, we will consider that stuff :)

I don't know how we'd go about making the trails.

As for the HUD, I have reconsidered making something, I just haven't came up with a super good idea yet. I almost want to make something more colorful to compliment the Breeze style. Maybe I will make a few concepts and see what you all think. I have a few ideas now, but, If I rework the HUD, I have to rework the menu as well, which takes even longer -_-;

This screen is on RTP so I can show the Minimap stuff, Breeze isn't prioritized yet.
