Fall of the Living: First Outbreak (Full Game Thread)

I thought about it. Mostly bosses will be interestingly deranged humans or an event that is a really bad situation. But I have been thinking of varieties of enemies. Lately I have been spriting alot of diffrent zombies with diffrent clothing. i am trying to make the animations more smooth and more variety in the death animations for the zombies. I've finished the stealth system already. I just need to work on the enemy sound system.
 
Something cool is in the making. Gameplay of the chainsaw, baseball bat, sword, and other weapons in an extremely bloody glory. Stay tuned!
hopefully by tommrow or so ill have at least a new screenshot up
 
Yeah as soon as I think it's ready. Well the zombie AI is complete. The hitbox and damage coding is already 100% complete for firearms and melee weapons. From the chainsaw even to ridiculous weapons such as a throwing a text book. Thanks to a friend of mine the blood system is to my liking now. Making it feel so much funner when the zombies bleed. Well the blood splatter system in game has a total of 40 unique blood graphics. and I gored it up to my own liking. So now when you play the game and shoot a crowd of zombies with a shotgun, they will actually bleed and splatter all over the place like it should!

honestly though I don't think pictures do it justice. It looks cooler in motion, so I don't know if you can apriciate as much. I might have to record a video =p

I will be working on a few more maps and character animations in the mean time :D

the crawling zombies will drop blood across the map when they are crawling on it.
 
Awesome. *_* How do you do those lights? Seriously, they look amazing. Is it a fog that darkens the map but lights it up at some places, or do you tint the screen darker and then use pictures/fogs for the lights?

Mostly cosmetic fogs. double fogs Using alpha filters. one for shadow, one for lighting. but each map is diffrent. sometimes i use pictures more for the maps with the flashlight effect
 
Wed a new gameplay teaser video will be released showing off several new game machanics as well as polished older machanics. You will also be able to see a new town using all new unseen graphics.

The video will showcase the new blood system and tweaked gunplay. I have to agree after playtesting it can get pretty hectic. This new town jas more narrow alleyways and roads and is packed with disaster. I have been thinking about doing the cutscenes in styled drawings. Just be prepared to see heads exploding off with shotguns and other various weapons as well as the melee system. ill show some cutting up of zombies with a sword and smashing of baseball bats. Trust me its unlike anything you have seen.

Wow, nice ones, I think you should make the weapon/ammo HUD smaller and not with a white font, and the shotgun shouldn't be that grey it should appear a more plastic, more present, I made a fast try to show what I mean:

I been working non stop on the game lately. I didnt like how the default animation system works so i am now using a partical system for smoother animations. I already created particals for blood when an enemy gets shot. This will make things much better. I'm making the game as bloody as i can without being ridiculous. Headshots will show gibs from the partical system. chunks of skull matter will fly off as well as blood gushing from their head.

I need to record a video, ill do so when i have a little time by myself.

This may sound creepy, but I like it when the bloods really explodses out of the head :/
Couldn't you try to make a Boneanimation system? Or take the chars, ampute their arms aso. and animate them in 72 frames with keyframes, which can be saved in single frames as pngs (use instead of charsets rectangle pngs) aso.

I think it could make the game a lot more fluid.

I think the new partical system does it justice. It is alot smoother than the default rmxp animation system. I'm going to try and use it for muzzle flashes and maybe the laser dot sight effect. For headshots and stuff Its going to be a partical animation using diffrent blood spray animations and chunks of the head. I just need to record it for everyone to really understand xD

Is it just me or do I have no idea what he just said? I think if you want to promote LMS, post in fox5's thread.


Now, to talk about this game, I just love that lighting effects. I just can't seem to make any good ones.
Hope this game becomes successful.

You mean that laggy mess of a game fox 5 was doing? i love how you dont even know how the game works and you insult it. i can rush 30 zombies out without lag for hordes, plus fluidly respawning in unique locations. so just shut up about that crappy little zombie game. I'm on such a bigger level of production. oh and to be fair i reported you. have a good day troll.

saikyo, there's no need for you to be a dick either, he was giving an opinion, surely it wasn't exactly nice, but there was no need for you to call fox5's game a "laggy mess", or call it a "crappy little zombie game", and what do you mean a "bigger level of production", I mean, from your screenshots, it just looks like you've got random unmatching tilesets, some look RTP others look like photos or something, and added them, which, in my opinion, looks terrible, although I wouldn't comment and say;

"Your screenshots look like shit they're fucking disgusting your game is shitty mess"

I'd say more like;

"Your maps could do with improving, as the tilesets don't quite match"

... You know why ? Cause despite all the shit talk you do and diss another members game of the same genre, you've still put hard work into it... and besides, you'd go on a bitch fit if anyone says anything bad about your game, ironic, eh ?
 
Cool it, alright? There's been more than enough arguments in this thread that don't need to exist at all.

I don't know how many times it needs to be mentioned, but saikyo765's game and fox5's game are two completely different games that shoudln't be compared to one another. They're both essentially zombie shooters but they use different gameplay elements, characters, and graphics.

saikyo765, it's understandable that useless comments can piss you off, but instead of addressing the comment it would be better if you just ignore it so it doesn't turn into a flamefest.

Again, the two games are entire separate from each other, so stop bringing up how you think one is better than the other. The next person that does this will receive a warn.
