Nice work :D

Also wanted to suggest that when you put the new Random battle button in,
It could say something like "Battle Creatures" Or "Fight a Monster"
in my opinion it would sound better and look more professional.

Yeah, good idea about the battle button.

I am working on quite a few updates at the moment which I want to get out of the way before starting proper game updates (quests and dungeons and such). I'll post the full list when it's all done, but for now there are new graphics and new maps about the place. :D
 
I've developed a set of special bbcodes that will make mapmaking far easier and quicker to do and make them more logical to edit later. Before there would be img and url codes all over the place and it was a mess, now it looks like so:

In short, it's very quick and simple for me to add new areas now!

Kind of like calling a method to do the work for you. That's a very clean way of doing things. I joined the forums, but the navigation is kind of eh that the moment and the fact that you're limited to the small window even eh-er.
 
Update:

-> most maps now in "build 2" style
-> 14 new maps added but they have yet to be filled out with graphics and descriptions
 
My master plan for world domination:

- Finish up the game in it's current state and make it nice and pretty
- Tie up the current storyline bits
- Introduce a paid version with some benefits, so we can afford better hosting
- Get better hosting
- Turn Vengeance into a free iPhone app supported by ads to bring in masses of new people and also money
- Continue

IMPORTANT: Stats

When I introduced classes I said the stat changes would be temporary. At current they are majorly unbalanced. They will be changing over the course of today, as such, all players will be reset to Jack of All Trades and their stats adjusted accordingly.

Stat bonuses for classes will be changed.

Also coming tonight is exp for melee, perception, and sight, which you get by defeating an enemy using a weapon that uses that stat. (Perception I'm not sure how will work yet, mind)

Gaining a certain amount of exp in a stat will "level" it.

Are you planning on introducing an array of spells for Constitution users?
 
I'm really not sure how spells are going to work yet, but I hope to make it so that everybody is equal in what they can do, but with a clear combat triangle (or square) of who can beat who.


Sim PvP is planned for the very near future btw :)
 
Exp

You now get exp by defeating an enemy while having a weapon equipped. The type of exp depends on the weapon:

Steel Sword - melee exp
Silver Sword - melee exp
Basic Bow - sight exp

Each enemy has it's own "exp" stat which is used to calculate how much you get.

You can view your exp on your character page: http://vengeance-rpg.com/v/action.php?character

At the moment if you have no weapon equipped, you get no exp. I'm going to try and sort something out for when you have no weapon, but nothing seems logical at the moment.


Interesting musings

I got lost trying to find the archer NPC! Found him eventually (he's by the river if you're after him; he sells a basic bow for 10 gold).

I died for the first time in a while.

Battles need more strategy.
