hell a lot of rmxp projects are over 100mb

most games from dev'rs like ea and bioware are over 1gb

i mean if 300mb is a deal breaker for you then ... get a new hard drive???

i have one that holds 100gb and one that holds 500 ... i mean i'd have to dl that thing like 2048 times to fill up all that room ;o
 
Hey, I'm with Miek, Vene, if it's comprehensive, then I'll be willing to DL it, but otherwise, your burning a huge hole through your hard drive. (And yes, my concerns are based off the fact that I only have a 350 GB hard drive and I used 64.3 GBs already, but, I'm looking to get a 1 TB HD soon).

I loved those style games, a cross between a mario style game and a zelda style game.
Anyone with me on this?
Wow, i have ideas in my head that wont quit.
I cant wait for the release of this.
 
Came out on the sega genesis back in the day.
Another good game was Beyond Oasis.
I would love to make a game like the classic nes Zelda 2.

No one else thought of these game styles yet?

I hope for fog effects, easy to make boss battles as well.

Sorry, but that game is gay... for me, anyway. It's, like, impossible. Too hard. Unfair. Can't do anything worth anything. The farthest I got was somewhere in the 2nd palace. Which was a major accomplishment. Yeah, it's that gay hard.

But, in contrast, a game like that I have imagined would be kind of cool...
 
Yes, I'm sure you would find something gay quite hard.
If you get what I mean.

Also, just because you can't do it, doesn't mean it's impossible. Perhaps you're just not as good as you need to be in order to get anywhere.

Man, I'm really itching for this to come out so I can start on something Metroidvania-ish. Only problem is, whenever I visualize it it's always my character running through Castlevania -- that might hurt my creative process a little.

Maybe I just bite the bullet and make a Castlevania fangame. Probably won't -- thing I would hate about making a fangame is conforming to canon.

You could have just said, "it was too hard to me".

And i beat that game, so i must be something special.

Try thinking before you speak next time.

And if it was that hard, then all the more reason to improve on it and make something less diificult and more fun.

Im talking about gameplay style not difficulty.
 
I knew exactly what I said. Also I was not trying to insult anyone. Also I have thought about the game's "impossibility" (I even had the disclaimer "for me"), which comes back to my age... :box: ...I excel at modern Zeldas which have worth but are far too easy... :crazy: ugh... they really need a harder, larger, more Zelda-like Four Swords. Hey, action game maker time...! :smile:

I have been playing games so long that it is hard for me to find a chalange.
And if you think Zelda 2 was hard, try it's clone Battle of Olympis i think it was called.
That game was very difficult.

Right now im thinking of how i would make a platformer, one thing i always wanted to see more of in a game like Super Mario Bros, was exploration, rather then point A to point B.
Anyone else know what im talking about?
Take SMB2, why not make it more explorable like say.. Metroid?

I just hope they leave things open in a way that will let people try and innovate, rather then generic platforming with score or shmup with score..

It needs plenty of customizing open for people.
 
I don't really get what those screenshots are of. Are they saying you can work in the editor on the xbox cause I don't see what kind of advantage that would give you except being able to playtest the game on the xbox itself.

I think that's what they're saying but I have no idea. Google's translation is really bad and vague (and i doubt that the original Japanese is really specific either).
