Why Wii?

what about mgs 4? I might be wanting to get a Wii, but I still love that franchise, it's probly the only one that makes me want to buy the ps3.

I'm talking about games that are out, right now. Which MGS4 isn't... I think.

I can think of quite a few Wii games that I'd like, that are out right now.

My choice of words was a tad off. Sorry.

What I meant was, that Wii has more good exclusives. I can't really think of any good exclusives for the PS3(ones that I would play, at least.). I can think of quite a few on Wii, though.

I hope that clears up what I meant.

Meh, we fall into personal opinion at this point.  To be honest, the exclusives of either system don't tickle me right in the slightest.  I mean, I might enjoy Heavenly Sword, but the demo I played just did not interest me in buying it at all.

But again, given that cross-console gaming with the Wii is largely impossible...  It's hard to have a good game on the Wii that's out on the other systems, so discounting good games that are on the PS3 AND the 360 is a bit biased.  Rainbow Six: Vegas might be out on the 360 as well, but that hardly means the PS3 gets no brownie points for having it.  Assassin's Creed and that are pretty much the only things I feel like playing on the Playstation at the moment, but that's still better than the 'eh maybe I'd feel like playing No More Heroes when it comes out' I feel for the Wii.

But again: completely my preference.  I hear Mario Galaxy is quite good, and that it takes Mario 64 one more step.  In my mind it seems like Mario 64 2, but people tell me that it actually has some new, innovative stuff in it, and considering I've yet to play it or even see it played, I can't exactly say anything with any merit to it.

But comparing Zelda and let's say a game like Bioshock is simply weird. Zelda got a graphic style quite different from Bioshock, therefore the Wii can be considered as a good console. But if you would like games like Bioshock in the Wii, you couldn't have them, why? Graphical limitations... and not even mentioning the sound effects and music.
No console is better than the other, stop acting like babies. Every single console got something to offer that makes it appealing.
Peace

exactly.

The Wii is bad due to the lack of Assassin's Creed and Call Of Duty 4.

Plus the fact it has that tacky little motion senser added on lol.

It's pathetic. You swing your arms like a loon (or just your wrist if your sensible) and the character on screen does a completely random action. i could understand it being amazing if say, I dunno Zelda was to copy the movements of my sword and block and attack accordingly... but instead he swings away like a loon while I feel I'm wanking off a piece of white plastic >_>

I hated my Wii so much I traded it in a long time. I'm happy with actual consoles such as the PS3 and 360 that play actual videogames rather than these coffee table style novelty flash games :D

....IMO Ha!

Exclusive games for the wii it<s due to the fact that the time that takes to put in the market one wii game from a company is quite short compared to big productions. Like par example, Army of Two, the EA studio in Montreal been working on it for 4 years already. Assassins Creed started 4 years ago as well. Those games are time consuming, that's why ps3 and pc cannot have exclusive games yet comparatively to the OH almighty Wii :D

I think it was something like 3 or 4 years before they released the new legend of zelda

[EDIT]:
For those who thought the Wii was a family console only...

actually a lot longer than that. the idea for twilight princess was originally thought of in the same year as orcarina of time was released.

and regarding the Wii, i personally have always loved nintendo's games. (mp,mario, loz) if i had the time and the money i would buy a Wii. the idea of motion sensors has always intrigued me. also i find the Wii to be similar to the GC but not the same. i would trade in my GC for a Wii any day.

Jeez. You really don't have a sense of fun do you? Do you wanna play on the same controller for every console you get? Unlike Sony and Microsoft, Nintendo actually cares about being creative. Sony just made a rip of the PS2 with better graphics. Microsoft did the same thing and added a few buttons to their controller, but nintendo actually created a totally new way to play, and totally new controllers instead of ripping the old gamecube controller (although for some games they allowed the ability to use it). The only reason the X Box 360 is popular is cause of Halo 3 and call of duty 4

I'm sorry, I have no interest in poor light gun replication  :(

Meh, when it comes to graphics, I don't care about anything much farther than N64. I mean, it's nice, but I don't expect it (if I did, I'd probably be bumming around some 3D engine forum instead of here...). I'm not really the sort of gamer that enjoys FPSes, and the only reason I like GTA is because of the open-endedness (and it's also funny to play, because I'm so bad at it, my friends and I all crack up). You don't need to get off your ass to play Wii at all. Sure, while you're figuring it out still, you're going to be swinging your arms around like an air traffic controller, but most games I've played don't require very much wrist movement at all.

I like the Wii because it's cheap and fun. It has loads of the games that I want to play. I usually don't like being a hardcore gangsta, or a terrorist, or a soldier, or some giant buff dude that's ten feet tall. I don't even like most of the female characters in "Mature" games, because they usually look like they're designed by very immature boys.  Yeah, I don't want to play Mario's fun adventure  forever, but that's what Kirby, Pokemon, Harvest Moon, Animal Crossing, Rayman, and Zelda are for. :D

Sigh... console wars again.

In the end, the one true gaming machine is the PC. No console will ever, EVER be able to match it. Just stop now, and let's go play some Call of Duty 4 :)

I think the fact that you called Link "Zelda" is enough to discredit any point you may have been trying to make. Try actually playing games next time before making judgements, tiger.

PS. Swinging the controller in Zelda and Mario feels more like an additional button rather than some kind of realistic thing- and I think it's intended to feel more like an additional button since it works that way. It's actually (in Mario especially) incredibly smooth and natural feeling.

But hey- if you'd rather hunch over a tiny little controller rather than lay back with your arms at your sides flicking your wrist, then by all means feel free to. The wii's controller's biggest benefit is being entirely comfortable and easy to use. Motion sensing has a lot less to do with it than a lot of you people realize.

Exactly.  Besides, if you're looking for 'realistic' movement, go play a game like Metroid 3.  The game has you moving the arm cannon through the whole thing.

Just because something is different doesn't mean it should be instantly discredited.  If anything, the wiimote and nunchuck are easier on the hands.  It doesn't constrain them close together for long periods of time.

Resident Evil.

Guitar Hero III

Super Mario

Most games are hilarious and fun.

If you're terrible at it, who cares.

I think the wii's are awesome anyway.

Ummm....

Resident Evil. - Ported version of 4 which surprisingly hasn't been rereleased on my toaster yet, and 2 arcadey shoot-em-ups

Guitar Hero III - Released on every single console known to human.

Super Mario - The magic died for me after 3, galaxy in my opinion is a waste of time with a shoddy control scheme (yes, I did just say that fanboys/fangirls)

Some of you might like it indeed, but some of you really do have to just get over the fact not everyone likes the Wii. I regret getting mine, and am constantly losing faith in Nintendo for the amount of shite they've dumped on top of what could've been a good console but instead was built for the kids and people who don't have opposable thumbs and/or can't get their heads around WASD and the mouse. Basically what I'm saying is Nintendo's subversively dumbing down gaming with their wavestick and covering it up with a tennis game and sudoku.

Do you get it now?

P.S. @Elias - Wow, I never knew we all carried arm cannons around with us.

What, are you dumb?  The arm cannon thing was a response to someone who was talking about Link's sword wasn't really 'realistic'.

And by the way, there must be a reason the Wii version of GH3 is 10000x more popular.

Your arguments make no sense.  Have some proof to back them up if you're going to run your mouth.
