What would you want in a Final Fantasy VII Remake?

One of my favourite aspects of the older FF series (Pre X) was the lack of voice actors. It gave the characters more.. well.. Character. I like to imagine what they they sound like myself, I would, for instance actually cry if they re-released VII with yuffie with some whiney america accent.

This is also the main reason I prefer reading manga or watching original anime then the dubbed US ver as all the new accents irratate me.. alot.


(This is by no means a shot at American accents, just an example. Another example would be..umm Imagine a French Cloud... wierd no? Thats what America accents sound like to me.. ruins the character...I'm digging a hole aren't I?.. I'll shut up ':| )

Yes, zat would be, 'ow you say, freakin' weird? It's understandable, lack of voice acting left their character up to your imagination to some degree. Besides, I don't know about you, but I never figured Cait Sith'd have an irish/scottish accent (sorry, I have trouble telling, honestly, I mean no offense by it), I think he does just because Cait Sith, or rather, Cait Sidhe is the name of a mythical creature from somewhere in those areas. Besides, decipherin' wha' Barret says is halfa da %*^#@!$%#$^&% fun! Besides, what'd they do when Cid talks, bleep half of it out or let it go uncensored?

As for Cid and Barret's swear symbols, I think they would just ignore that and tone down what words they use. And I am with you Corona, I was kinda surprised Cait Sith had a irish/scottish accent too XD

Cait sith has an Scottish/Irish accent? XD I may just have to get the dubbed ver of AC just to hear that!

Well, of course, but I just always thought by the way his lines in the game were written that he'd be the fast talkin' type, not scottish/irish, plus if they do a remake, no wussing out on the stuffed Mog because of the texture or animation difficulties like they did in Advent Children and Dirge of Cerberus. If they can make Red XIII, a teddy-Moogle and Cait Sith with no problems, they can manage a semi-living stuffed mog, I mean, having him ride Red XIII is no easier to animate, is it? With the haunches and all, it'd likely be even harder! Besides, part of making games is pushing the limits. Cid and Barret without swearing is just not right, I mean if you do that you lose a quarter of Cid's lines right there, like that one part before you steal the Tiny Bronco "What?! My %$#^& hospitality ain't good enough for you? Sit yer asses down and drink that ^&\*%@ tea!", it sort of makes you lose a piece of their character, I mean, bleeping would be understandable, but just plain removing it? I don't even like it when movies on cable do that, I mean when someone says "What -skips ahead two seconds, video and audio- are you talking about?!" is sort of lame.
