What Tutorials Do you Need?

Hmm. Try this site, its the best tutorial I've ever seen for Anime.

not really what im looking for, i want a tutorial on how to draw them on the computer, i can never colour it right, there was this really good one somewhere.

i can already draw by hand, not on the computer though very well.

nice site though.

Hmm. Unless you have a LIGHT PEN, a TABLET, or an excellent hand control over the mouse, you cannot draw well using the computer.

If you plan to draw using the mouse, you have to have great control on your arm, no excessive shaking of the hands. It is hard to learn how to draw with the mouse especially if you're left handed coz the mouse is on the right.

You can sprite them though. Example, make a 200x200 canvas and slowly click out until you make a figure. Example is TheBlackMarket's pixel works, they were made from pixels not lineart but they just look awesome.

I need a map tutorial for total noobs who make things symmetrical and out of place. I know for a fact that, unless it's similar to A Link to the Past or Secret Mana, with multiple maps, I'm not doing an overworld (I'd probably do it like Shadow Hearts or Riviera, where it goes stage-by-stage and you pick your destination).

Also, what's the best way to outline your map idea?

You set the priority in the database, go into the tileset tab and click on the priority button, then set the priority.

A tutorial isn't really needed at all for that to be honest.

Sweet_thing, when you draw, do you do line by line or the whole draw a circle then the cross lines showing the direction of the face and eye placement? I find it is a lot easier if you follow all the proper steps. If you are working in PhotoSHop or something with layers, you can draw the basic shapes in the bottom layer and delete them when you're done. Mind you, I've personally never done this but it sounds good in theory XD and I'm gonna try today. It's pretty sad, but I just found the pencil and bucket tools in Adobe CS2. I've only used it for recolouring before.

THe girl in the logo looks not so done well... Hmm.. I guess you have to first check the shape of the face, yes, an upright oval... Then, divide the face into LEFT and RIGHT, then UP and DOWN... That would make a cross on the oval.. Thats when you start building up the face...

There are a few tutorials I think we need. While not directly related to RPG maker XP, they would help.

First is either a written tutorial or a link to a beginners tutorial for photoshop or other graphic editors. I tried looking for these on google and came up with tutorials, but they were mostly just "new techniques" for already experienced users. If just links, they could probably be added to the spriting thread.

Another thing is all the standard pixel sizes that all the different sprites and such use. I guess this could also be added to the spriting thread as well.

Covered. Should be viewable as soon as a moderator unlocks it.

A tutorial on how to use the mine town, or if anyone has a screen shot I could see that would be helpful also. I just can't figure out how to piece the thing together for some reason! But yeah, any tut or just a picture of a 'mine town' would be great. Thanks.

anyone know how to make a pokemon style game with catching and training monsters? if anyone knows anything related to this or that can point me in the right diretion that would be much appreciated. its for a pokemon style game (but believe me it'd be original enough to not be consiered a ripoff) thanks all!

I would really like to see a church and castle making tutorial (exteriors) I've seen some amazing screenshots (especially from Euph) and would really like to learn how to do them. Danke!

mapping tutorial for different types of maps, such as castles, interior and exterior, churches, inns etc

Custom Spriting tutorial for RTP style

Custom Battle System Making Tutorial (this would probably be the hardest one)

Can anyone suggest to me some SPECIFIC topics related to effective storyline writing or game-design management they would like to see in a tutorial? Nothing too broad (like how do I make a good game, how do I manage a large project, etc,) or one that has been rigorously discussed (clichés for instance) thanks. I would like to do something a little productive (that’s related to rpgmaking) before I head back to uni in a couple of weeks and am currently hurting for ideas.
