Ryan, Marcus, stop flaming the Final Fantasy fan(s). People are entitled to their opinions. You are entitled to disagree. You are not entitled to flame them for it.

...where did I flame them at all? I never said "If you like Final Fantasy, you suck." I simply said "There is more to life than Final Fantasy." If that's considered a flame then I guess I should hop on the bandwagon and agree with every single opinion I read. I LIKE Final Fantasy but I'm not going to say it's something you orgasm over.ccoa said:

It had nothing to do with ff in particular. It helps to get a full picture before giving a lecture. Im not one to allow people to put words in my mouth like you did. What you should of been noticing is the guy that implied anyone who doesnt like FF is 'gay', since they all, apparently, hate it for the same reason. Its ok though, we all make mistakes and oversites.

Though I'd have to argue you over the Xenogears being not fun, I found the gameplay system to be relatively engrossing, but the main draw is the story. Though I do agree about the second disc, that was a bit annoying. (Though the giant [really giant] robot battle was amusing)

Star Ocean: The Second Story was the best RPG in my opinion. Great storyline, lots of features, shame that it was a little bit on the short side but overall it was a really great game.
I don't know what happened on the second disc but knowing that kind of makes up for it (not really... because I still have to play the second disc).Ambience said:

Well, I'm a sad fanboy... or Am I? FF7 wasn't the first FF I played, FF4 was. Then FF6 and then in 1997, FF7. So I can't go by bias as the first game I played. I played the Zelda games long before them too and am a big fan of Breath of Fire and Alundra.
As much as I know I'll get eaten alive for it. I have to say Final Fantasy VII not for it's graphics but it's storyline and musical score as my favourite parts. Alot of people love this game, but did anyone think to say that people play the game, enjoy it and become fans after they've enjoyed the game. So a majority does count for something especially here. It's a great game and people enjoyed it, they can't really have a bias before they've played it like someone might with a movie sequel.

That's the thing here, most people put their favorites as absolute best here, though I can't exactly back that up with anything. Final Fantasy Tactics if you consider it an TRPG, which I do. Aside from the lame final battle.
Star Ocean II: Second Story is great as well, although I got stuck at the first boss fight on the second disc.
Final Fantasy IX and VIII were good too.
and Breath of Fire 4 was fun and I loved the graphics.

I'm gonna stop to put Xenosaga on the top of my pile immediately. (Even if most of disk 2 did suck, the first disk more than made up for it - it's not like the frikkin amazing plot went away.))
But I also thoroughly enjoyed Star Ocean II, Breath of Fire 3, Grandia, Legend of Mana, and Final Fantasy Tactics.
People are such dicks to those who really liked FFVII, but I'm one of them, and I'm not ashamed to admit it.
