Yeah but it was bad, I mean, graphically it looked nice, the battlesystem was interesting enough, the soundtrack was pretty decent, but everything else... meh, not good at all.
The second is where it's at, seriously, best of the three games, the only reason people say the first is the best, because back then, it was better than all the other games like it, but the second is just... :fap:

yeah 3 was decent one the eyes but the story was bleh
jbrist i will agree that Grandia 2 is one of the best dreamcast games of all time though. the reason grandia 1 was so great was a) the soundtrack was live sound fonts, no game did that at the time (especially for sega saturn) b) every character didnt feel overly generic, with the dialog and plot you felt as if you really believed in Justin wanting to chase his dream, the game had alot of heart. c) the gameplay at the time was innovative as FUCK, no other RPG could pull that off ,most just ripped off FF's meter shit or off of dragon quest. d) the story was incredible, yeah it starts off pretty dense at first but it slowly builds into a dynamic adventure which always keeps you wanting to continue what happens next
yeah, big problem with grandia is that its LINEAR AS FUCK SHIT BALLS but if you can stand FF13 or games like that then youll like it. its one of the few linear rpgs that i love to death
grandia 2 wasnt a bad game, it just....copy and pasted the latter game's outline and added a differant style to it. HEY IM A BADASS. HEY IM A GIRL. LETS TRAVEL. OH NO IM A BIG STRONG GUY. WHAT? MY SIBLING WORKS FOR THE DARK SIDE? WE HAVE TO SAVE THE WORLD GUYS. etc it got old quick. the game play was great, but thats only because IT WAS THE SAME AS THE PREVIOUS it didnt revolutionize anything. i think the only think Grandia 2 did better than grandia 1 was the banter between the characters. besides that its pretty much an average game.
