i played
Resonance ... an indie game made with Adventure Game Studio, sold on Steam for $7.
it is very low-res! actually so much so, it is jarring enough to take a bit to get used to. but it doesn't look bad.
the voice acting is actually kind of surprisingly good, too. it was a liiittle rough in the beginning, but pretty good once the game gets going.
the story was VERY well written. like, surprisingly so. wasn't expecting it to be so good.
the gameplay mechanics are ... a little rough. the adventure system mechanics are pretty interesting though. i know the constraints of AGS, so it's really impressive, considering what they had to work with. but the movements are very slow, and unfortunately, though many of the mechanics are fresh and clever, i found myself forced to consult walkthroughs several times, because the leaps of logic were far too obtuse in relation to the systems. not TOO bad though, still very playable.
anyway, my rating is: buy. it's a very cute little game, and it's not like it's expensive
