Actually I banned him for constantly shouting irrelevant 4chan memes in order to argue that rape is the victim's fault and that protests such as Slutwalk are a selfish attempt to pin the blame on the rest of society.

And generally acting like a twelve-year-old.

what. banning someone for implying that rape victims are asking for it is unjustified. i mean sure what they're saying might be wrong or whatever but freedom of speech.

This exactly. The cornerstone of his argument was a discussion page on /b/, based on a ridiculously off interpretation of a sign a Slutwalk protester was holding. It also seemed to have been his first and only exposure to the concept of Slutwalk.

I'm all for actual discussion, but when someone's in love with a borrowed opinion because they think it means they're IRREVERENT UNAPOLOGETIC TELLIN IT LIKE IT IS then nothing on earth will convince them otherwise.

I appreciate the whole devil's advocate thing since it keeps us honest, but it was literally three hours.

Well, today I woke up late, worked on my game a lot, and watched a TV documentary about 9/11. It was quite moving, to be honest, especially given there's uncensored footage of the plane hitting tower 2 and people jumping from the buildings and hitting the floor.

Woke up late, did some exercising, messed around on the computer, did more exercising, took a walk, and picked up my father from work. Pretty boring day, actually.

Spent half the day reading about public speaking because the power was out, then finished up with MoH 2010. Also discovered that my school's website hasn't been updated in like. two years.

on the bright side,

a coworker's insane ex sent her guilt-flowers b/c he is insane. she gave them to me so i could pretend they were my "get well"/"good luck with your new job" flowers.

sam brought me a sub sandwich from Lenny's for lunch. it was a super good sandwich. <3.

so it was a wash.

it's not like it's a hard thing to do. the teacher in charge is reluctant to let students work with it; she thinks we'll post up porn or something (even though i'm pretty sure county law says a supervisor checks the page before we post the update).
