Just started Dracula. You know, for being such a vamp freak, I have never read Dracula before. Seen one of the movies, sure. Know the gist of the story, yeah. But never actually read it.

Cell, by Stephen King. I recall trying to read it when I was 11 or 12, but I got really confused about 50 or so pages in. I find it much better this time around-the beginning is still just as fantastic as ever. I love stories that have those cut-to-the-chase introductions and get right into the action.

I've read most of King's work (mostly because it's all I had around and I used to have a receptionist job) but I can't get past the ludicrous plot of Cell enough to actually give it a try :/
(King is a GIGANTIC technophobe and it's hugely obvious)

I loved The Road; it reminded me of The Blindness in terms of writing style (i.e.: lack of identification, stripped down narrative, etc.). I highly recommend it, unless you like your books to spoon feed you throughout.

I'm still stuck on Renaissance erotica for my essay, but I've been picking up essays from Milan Kundera about the "novel" as an idea/art. Good shit :)

I read The Exile and the Kingdom by Albert Camus. Really quick read, its a series of vignettes united by motifs of social and spiritual isolation in a cruel and absurd world. Its heavy stuff in simple prose. Hemingway without the manliness.

Yeah, it's definitely not for everyone, the plot is just one of those kinds that I really like, so crazy and apocalyptic that it somehow manages to be likable. I'm pretty picky about books and it's rare that I actually thoroughly enjoy one, Cell manages to hit just that right nerve that makes me love it :3

I'm reading Max Brook's terrifying account of the Zombie War in "World War Z".

It's much better than I thought it would be - I'm adverse to horror books - especially zombie stuff because it's just so silly, but "World War Z" really captures the horrifying absurdity of a zombie apocalypse.

Told as a series of interviews with the survivers, he slowly weaves the story by following individuals through various stages of the crisis. Nearly all of them are incredibly emotional (and I cried on more than one occasion).

All must read now.

Ooh! I just recently read that. It is fabulous!

Currently re-reading (for the zillionth time) Christopher Moore's 'Lamb, The Gospel According to Biff'. A Must read for all ages...

I'm currently reading all of the Jeremy Clarkson books, namely "The World According to Clarkson".

He's a bigotted oaf but they're kinda amusing.

He basically just rants a lot for a whole book.

I'm considering reading Twilight just to see what all the fuss is about.

Are the LotR books any good? I have them, but never read them. Well; I gave up when I read something along the lines of "and frodo and timmy went with the elves into the bushes and had a gay old time".

I wasn't impressed with the films.

A while back I read The Da Vinci Code. It's a good read if you're in to that kind of stuff. Although, maybe I should have read Angels and Demons first :/.

I am currently reading The Amber Spyglass, the thrid book in the His Dark Materials Trilogy, writen by Philip Pullman.
I recently read the first two books which were pretty good.
The first, Northern Lights otherwise known as The Golden Compass movie, was far better as a book than a movie.
In my opinion anyway...
