What are you reading?

You guys HAVE to read Lockpick Pornography (warning: PDF file), because it is very good.
Also it's free, and not too long, so hey - you don't really have any arguments against it.
Also, it's by Joey Comeau, one of the pair who do A Softer World. So you know it'll be interesting.

Been reading the His Dark Materials trilogy for a while now. Right now I'm halfway through the second book, The Subtle Knife. I raced through the first one in just more than a week, but it's been taking me a lot longer to finish this one. They're really enjoyable books and I don't agree with the "Children's Fantasy" label, I couldn't see myself liking the books if I was younger than 12 or 13. It has a lot of elements that only older readers will pick up on, anyway. And the style of writing isn't something I would see myself enjoying as a kid.

(after this I wanna start reading Watchmen since I won't be able to see the movie in theatres, (grrr Rated R grrr) that way I can finish the series before I watch the film)

I'm reading a Clarkson book, he's a funny bloke. It's the green one, a collection of all his newspaper columns or something.

I'm also reading Discworld at the same time, I'm a bit slow here in that I'm now on Book 6, but I've read most of them before anyway. My sister has every single one (like 30+). We were devastated when we found out he has altzheimers.

I am currently reading:

The Last Light of the Sun by Guy Gavriel Kay (historical fantasy, cool shit)
Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen (lit class :x)
Remnants of War by John Mueller (one of my assorted random nonfiction books)

Also, what, Terry Pratchett has Alzheimer's? ;-;

Also, what, Terry Pratchett has Alzheimer's? ;-;

It's big news over here, he donated £500,000 to a charity for it now and he's been making documentaries and shit. He's finding it hard to type (can no longer touch type) and says he's limiting the amount of books he writes to working on about 3 at a time. :|

Just skip New Moon and Eclipse. You won't miss much other than a bit (more like a lot) of teen angst. Breaking Dawn was pretty good though.

I'm currently reading....The Path of Daggers, which is book #8 in Robert Jordan's "Wheel of Time" series.

I've got more in the shelf I haven't got to yet. I bought some books with the money I make on the job, which takes the time I would have normally used to read the books I didn't have. :lol:

I'm reading Twilight. o.o yeah a little behind the curve.

Is twilight actually any good? It sounded terrible but people are raving over it
From what I've heard, an emphatic no. I haven't read it either, though, and I don't intend to unless it's with the intention of mocking it.

Personally, I thought it was good, although like I said earlier, you can skip the second and third books and not miss much. Truth be told, unless you are a girl between the ages of 10 and 14 (this is en estimate, my sister's friend got my sister into it and she got me into it and they are both 25), or are a huge vamp freak (I had actually been eyeing the books at Borders for a month or two before my sister got her copies), you probably wouldn't have much interest in it.

Reading the Bone graphic novel series right now by Jeff Smith. There's nine in total and they're all very entertaining, I'd recommend them to anyone. If you've never heard of it before (which would be really surprising, they're fairly popular) it centers around the three Bone cousins (Fone, Smiley and Phoney) when they get run out of their town after Phoney tries to run for mayor and lost in a desert. They end up in a valley filled with dragons, kingdoms and rat creatures. At first the cousins simply try and get back home, but they realize that for some reason they're entangled within the strange events happening in the valley, and have a part to play in the story. The only problem is that because they're for kids, some of the stuff is toned down a bit, and they're pretty short. Still great books though!

The (godawful) Courtier by (godawful) Castglione. The shit they make you read in school. "Bla bla bla women are dumb bla bla bla".

Otherwise I read any Alan Moore stuff I can get my hands on...
