AD is shitty what??? Go back and rewatch it, its actually pretty funny imo.

I'm rewatching it and I'm not impressed at all. Its still the same. I must not be getting it or something because. Its just not funny to me. I mean some things are kinda hah. But thats about it. The overactive hyper competitive chick just screams and yells and throws her body like a ragdoll physic engine prostitute and yeah. Blah. I'll continue to watch it but I don't know.

I did watch Elfen Lied though. Besides the whole, "mew" thing that show was pretty damn awesome. :) so I add that to the recommendation list.

Nah, its cool, im not FORCING MY OPINION ON YOU alot of people I know didnt like it so its ok :0

I laugh at the stupidest shit really so thats prolly why.

The manga was better, maybe take a look at that? Also Gantz was pretty great.

Hahaha I think its because you smoke weed. Maybe thats it? Just kidding moog bro.

Either ways I should. I shall. I find myself horribly bored nowadays anyways. So it'll give me something to do. :)

But Gantz...gantz gantz. It wasn't bad. I just didn't like it. I did like the title song though. I can't remember who made it though. I think its worth checking out but I never finished it. Boso Renkin or something was good. Hell just got to justdubs.com and pick from there. They have most of these on there. Even Avatar! Which I had no idea was an anime!

Gantz manga was much MUCH better than the anime actually (just cause I didnt bring that up) but the english translation was very good imo although the show was kind of lacking in parts, ill agree. The song youre thinking of is Super Shooter by Rip Slyyme, its actually one of my few favorite jpop songs.

Avatar isnt ACTUALLY an anime but its so damn close it better be. I thought it was really fucking GAY until I watched it and I have to agree it wasnt too bad. Its definately Nick's big seller lately besides Spongebob or something since all the nicktoons suck dick.

Buso Renkin was ok imo, Watsuki's best work is obviously Rurouni Kenshin which I will reccomend to anyone (although its the polar opposite of Sam X). It seemed to forced in the story line, but its watch able.

Ive been out of the anime scene for a long time now and its odd cause I used to be HARDCORE anime fan back in hs and my freshman year of college but now im in and out, the last one I saw was Gurren Lagan which ended terribly.

This thread is irrelevant anyway cause the best anime is FLCL :3

I nearly had an aneurysm. FLCL is to anime what Family Guy is to American comedy cartoons. It's LOL SO RANDOM XD that middle and high schoolers find funny.

Has Witchblade been mentioned? Thats a damn good show. I think they did an excellent job of taking it from the american comics and turning into anime. :)

Oh yeah and FLCL is the best hands down. It was awfully short though. :/

I'm a mecha anime fan. I watch anime to unwind so I'm not big on series with massive complicated plots (Code Geass and Gundam are as complex as I usually go). With that in mind, here is what I would recommend if you are looking for fun, action filled anime:

Code Geass - all round fun to watch, it goes down a little toward the end but the finale makes up for it. Good political mecha anime with a main character who outsmarts his opponents in ever more impressive ways. Some really clever moments and loads of great plot twists.

Gundam 00 - it's a new take on Gundam, very cool. Politics and mecha blend again, but in the early episodes more episodic and focused on the core cast. The Gundams are powerful but never too powerful - but the end of the series, the other side outclasses them. Season 2 is still airing, it is the best Gundam has been in a long time. All round good show and worth checking out.

Gurren Lagann - Gurren Lagann is a slick, high action anime which invites you to kick reason right out the door. It's fun mecha action with "burning courage" to the utmost maximum, slick battle sequences and all-round retro mecha anime fun. The creators must have been fans of Mazinger and Getter, because the love shows. The series brings out all the fun of mecha anime that series like Evangelion killed off by getting too focused on the characters. It's ultimately like Gainax's other anime, Gunbuster, in the level of action and sheer fun.

Gunbuster - Gainax's original anime, it is another good short series. Some really epic battle sequences, and classic super robot action in the later episodes. The early ones juxtapose againstit quite well developing Noriko from an unsure schoolgirl into the heroic pilot of mankind's strongest weapon.

Gaiking: Legend of the Daiku Maryu - This one I've got a special spot for. It's a remake of a 70's series but it basically just took a few key elements. What made it good was an emphasis on action, without stock footage. Every attack and technique was thought out in battle, and there are some clever fight sequences. Plus everything is slick, and flows well, with some truly clever bad guys and one of the best mid-series moments ever.
Also, the crazy episode with the purple hippos.

Gaogaigar / Gaogaigar FINAL - I'm a huge fan of this series. It's more super robot action which does not need you to think about things - it's pure action and fun, with a good dose of guts and "courageous hearts win any battle" on the part of the heroes. It's over the top, it's retro, and above all else, it is fun to watch.

I'd also recommend checking out Koutetsushin Jeeg, another modern update of a classic, Getter Robo: Armageddon, New Getter Robo and Mazinkaiser (especially the movie where he fights Daishogun and the other Great Mazinger villains).

Denno Coil is great for all ages, but very hard to find. It's a weird amalgam of Serial Experiments Lain and My Neighbor Totoro, with some Fullmetal Alchemist thrown in for good measure and some of the best animation in any animated series ever.

Otherwise, Excel Saga is great if you know a lot about Japanese pop culture, but unless you want to lose your sanity don't touch the last episode anything other than a ten-foot pole. Gurren Lagann is my pick for the best "stupid" shonen anime ever created, and Fullmetal Alchemist is also worth watching if you've never seen it, which is unlikely. Paranoia Agent is excellent if you are willing to think. Tekkonkinkreet is a very effective sensory blowout that does a couple of things wrong, but still manages to effectively deconstruct the shonen genre. FLCL evokes adolescence better than any other work of media except for Catcher in the Rye, and Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya is so unrelentingly positive that it's very hard to hate, unless you're an anime cynic or hate the art form. Anything that Miyazaki makes is generally worth watching, especially Spirited Away.

I'm a little on the fence about Soul Eater--it has a wacked-out visual style reminiscent of Tim Burton movies and very fun characters, but for every shonen trope it happily averts another two or three come crowding in. Still, the show's antagonists are actually threatening and at times genuinely creepy, which is more than I can say than for, say, Bleach or even Naruto.
Medusa, Crona and Asura in particular.

Hey, no. No. This topic was over 30 days old, and in the future - it wouldn't be okay to have necroposted in it - but since your post was generally constructive to the discussion it's really not that bad. Just refrain from this here, and in other parts of the forum. ~Surmuck

I like Soul Eater, I've been following it. It's very cute. Some episodes are a little too j-pop and that's frustrating, but the animation is just so damned smooth. No canned animation, no stills. It's engrossing to watch something so fluid.

What I like about it is that I keep worrying it's going to go DBZ/Naruto/Bleach on me, and just be about "OH YEAH WELL I AM VERY SLIGHTLY MORE POWERFUL WATCH ME POWER UP FOR 4 EPISODES!" but then they do something interesting that diverts it off that track. The characters feel more endearing and fleshed out, too.

I still dont get whats so damn great about Haruhi. It honestly bored me :/

That's the thing. You're apparently immune to good vibes from anime. Haruhi is just so positive that it either makes someone feel warm and fuzzy or just sickens them.

No its just boring to me honestly

I watched one epi and didnt get it at all

in fact its one of the MOST anime japfaggy kind of shows ive seen so far and people praise it for being original IDGI

MegaMan NT Warrior is a good one. The show is different from the games. So it is all new. I liked the third season the most. Dr. Regal was hardcore and used the powers of darkness on his side.
