Ok here is my golden oldie chiptune song: Crazy Umbrella

Pretend its in a game where crazy parasols are dropping down and you're a bulldozer trying to scoop them up. Then it speeds up and then you catch the last one and you win the level. Then a silly umbrella laughs at you.

well at least me and looseends will do it, im sure some people would hop on the bandwagon if we revived it. its a good way for people to get out of their usual genre and expand their talents into areas they usually wouldnt

Im gonna try and revive this yallllll since i have access to pc now.

So yeah how about this theme be :ORCHESTRAL. Restrictions are only strings and percussions, (that includes all marching and ethnic percussion, and tremolo and pizz strings). Try to make it at least two minutes without the loop just so the melody isnt the basis of the song. Im looking forward to hearing!

so yeahhhhhh lets start wrting, ill post mine tomorrow, and well run it until we get a good bit of entries or until an allotted time passes

If you :

a) have LITTLE TO NO exp. writing music or what not then
midi makerrrr

b) have a little exp with notation and stuff then consider finale notepad, which essentially is a staff writing program for those who dont know

c) know alot about music THEN WHY THE HELL ARE YOU READING THIS GO WRITE SOMETHING

This thread's been dead for quite some time, but im willing to be do a revamp if more people are interested. It always starts great but falls through But ill give it another chance. Give me a day to write up something.

As for being new to music, you should check out irc and meet some dudes, they have pretty interesting and complex musical tastes.

Ok, my 'Entry' is done, its so bad and off beat to some things -_-. The animal noise is a 'heartbeat' (it was harder then i thought xD) and its 2 min's dead on, sounds nothing like a spooky forest though -_-, feel free to slate

ok im listening to it

it sounds very oriental and mellow at first. the piano intro is nice, but the percussive heartbeat sounds are a bit random imo, but cool (very creative). it reminds me of a timpani soundfont! it also tends to sound like background music. remember that when you are writing this its more outside the rpg element, and more like an original track! try to beef it with a counter harmony perhaps? Maybe another piano track.

I dont think it sounds too much like a forest theme, perhaps more like a graveyard ship theme or a haunting theme? pretty good nonetheless.

ill post mine soon, although it will prolly be shit (im working on it now)
