Im reposting this cause the forum deletion thing.

This theme is chiptunes! Anything goes, as long as its NES esque. Try not to make it sound too synth-ish. Try to get as creative as possible, but remember the types of sounds you are using!

Im going to bump this because its still a cool idea to do and people need to get in on it.

Even if you CANT READ MUSIC OR ARE TONEDEAF still submit an entry!! Im not going to tell you to PM anyone cause im not the mod, but if you need help ill be on irc alot

SO yeah chiptunnezzzzz. Lets say, next friday deadline? Ill leave that up to Cruelty.

also i dont mind adding prizes to this thread, so maybe that will be motivation for some of you

Hey, Naruto. If I get my computer fixed in time, I'll definately make and post something. I actually have ideas, just can't post or create! This is a really cool idea, though. I'm surprised there aren't more people in on this. :sad:

Also, because it's chiptunes, does it have to be a midi? Or can we use real instruments and keyboards?

I dont really care if it is midi, thats fine. Just remember that it should have a NES style/feel to it, preferrebly with two squares, a sawtooth, etc. If you want to use a square as the melody and add real instruments as backup or what not, that would be fine! Actually that might sound interesting.

I'll post my stuff later this week when Im done giving my students there exams :3

for what it's worth, i DID actually do this theme. i forgot i made it shortly afterward and never posted it tho. >_>
its only about a minute long, and i gave up trying to add to it, but i could up it if anyone actually wants to hear it. :p

ha. that sounded cool as shit. =D lots of progression, and it just kept developing. i liked it, sounded like you put quite a bit of effort into it. :} bravo!

that totally shames my half-assed unfinished tune. i think i'm gonna take a few hours here and finish it up and make it a bit cooler before i post it.

Haha, that was pretty cool. The rhythm seemed offset, but the voices took me off guard. XD Very soft and calm for an 8 bit piece. I like.
