Vegetarianism: A new path

There are vegetarians that became vegetarians because they saw movies of tortured animals that were going to be eaten. Becoming a vegetarian is not the way to stop that violence, so these here are stupid.
I don't know about the rest. But eating meat is part of us. It's all a matter of believes and ways of thinking, and if it is so, I will not admit a vegetarian or any other kind of anti-meateating person, telling me eating meat is wrong. If they don't like meat, whatever, but I don't tell them that not eating meat is wrong and "hurts the plants".

I only eat turkey, chicken, and fish, when I do it meat. This is personal preference though. I did take up vegitarianism for a few years in the past though, and it was because I was informed on what was going on in some of the farms. It's not like I thought 'Hey if I stop eating meat the world will change, but more 'If I stop eating meat it's like my own personal protest'. I never shoved it on other people though.

Oops. Pete, plants aren't sentient beings, they can't be hurt. Good argument though.[/sarcasm]

I'm Vegetarian. But it happened just naturally - I just stopped liking meat and now I don't eat any. Counting birds, fish, red meat, etc.

Anyway, Einstein may have been right, but:

-If pre-humans never ate meat their brains wouldn't have advanced as much.

I dunno how true that is but everyone keeps saying that to me when they find out I'm veggie.

Vegetarians are actually harming the planet by the way. Quorn and Tofu gives off lots of CO2 as it grows.

But, not as much CO2 as a cattle ranch makes.

Cows not only give off CO2, but the forests that are cut down to keep them means less trees taking it away and less oxygen being put back into teh atmosphere.

Edit:

Plants don't think as we (or other animals) do. If you tread on grass it wont react like stepping on a dog's tail or whatever.

What bothers me is the idea that in another 20 years we'll have enough crazy young arrogant vegetarians to start labeling eating meat as in the same category as smoking cigarettes.

Many of them already do this, and to be quite frank I enjoy it. If I can decry someone's morals simply by eating meat(one of the manliest of activities), then I shall take great pleasure from it.

Thank you. I'm not a man, but I do love meat. Har, har.

Besides, I dunno if someone brought this up already, but in long term health issues, it can be kind of bad... I need to find the documental about this guy who has been vegetarian for a while (15 years or so) so you see the health issues it can cause... right now I can remember he has anemia and can't get it "on" if you know what I mean...

I do see many valid points of vegetarianism, but I can't bring myself to forgo meat all together. I have, however, recently decided to stop eating red meat (but not chicken or fish, cuz' I'd be damned if you tried to make me stop eating those two). Nothing personal against red meat, but I think I'll be healthier if I stop the consumption for awhile. (I'm going for 30 days to see effects of having no red meat is like) I dunno.... to each his own I suppose. I do think that there is a problem concenring some of the things involved making beef..

Leave the vegies alone man!

No offense to anyone here, but I think vegetarianism is stupid. Humans simply wouldn't have evolved this far without red meat. It is natural for us to eat it and it does it a world of good. Why do people think its bad? Before agriculture do you think that humans would have just eaten chicken or fish? No way. Just vegies? Don't bet on it.

So it is logical to conclude that we are best adapted to a diet high in red meat. People think being a vegetarian is healthier, it's not! If you eat lean red meat your not going to get fat, it's just shitty fast food companies like mcdonalds that give meat a bad name. Fatty foods and food high in sugar are a lot worse. If you ever want to gain any muscle, let's see how you go about that with no meat.

Do you think nature gives a shit about killing of animals? Heck even some animals kill just for the heck of it. But cows are killed for us to eat. Why is that bad? If they don't like it maybe they should have evolved. People are arguing that humans are equal to animals. Then why can't we eat like animals?

If we didn't farm animals society probably wouldn't have reached this level either. People say that animals are becoming extinct so we have to become vegatarians. Why? Cattle are't endangered? We could always get rid of livestock and cut down more forests to satisfy our need for vegetables. Basically we get no carbs from them so we will have to eat a huge amount more too.

As Maddox himself says, for every animal you don't eat, I shall eat 3.

A lot of people bring up the shape of human teeth, but few bring up the enamel. A true herbivore, such as a cow or sheep, has very thick enamel. This is necessary because in the wild it is impossible to get large quantities of vegtebales without taking in large amounts of grit and dirt, which wears away enamel. Humans have enamel only slightly thicker than that of a pure carnivore. This indicates that humans only have the capability to survive on a vegitarian diet due to modern technology.

BTW, if humans dissapeared today, thousands of species would go exint within a year's time.

The Lord gave us animals to be eaten. If I may quote:

"And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth." Gen.1.28

It is clear that the purpose of cattle and livestock on this earth is to sustain mankind.

Of course I don't find it wrong to not eat meat- that would be silly. I merely don't see the point of choosing not to take advantage of that which God has given us.

But you are eating God's holy creatures! Is not the lamb the sign of Easter, of the re-birth of Our Lord Jesus Christ?

Hmm, it's hard to talk like you do...

Anyway, yeah, the lamb is a sign of Christianity, of new life, of Jebus's rebirth, isn't it?

Typo. :)

Anyway, I'm finding it actually better not eating meat. I've lost weight, yes, but healthily. (Not underweight, not overweight). There's lots of substitutes, such as quorn, which I now find taste nicer than meat ever did anyway.

It's not rabbit droppings, it's er... fungus. :) Like tofu.

Sounds dead appetising, eh?

It's also a town in England. Quite boring, I've been there. It's in the dictionary as that, a town.

(Sorry, can't help myself: So if I don't be LGB, I can be happy with the GL in the big H, while watching CNN and listening to REM?)
