Now, Voltron or Starblazers or Speed Racer ... That's old school anime :).

I thought Speed Racer, and Voltron went without saying.

I do still love the terrible voice-acting, and bad plot of Voltron.

Never heard of Starblazers, though.

Oh, and RoboTech(sp?). Never before has a bad English adaptation been so great before.

And heck, don't forget Astro Boy ... That's like--oldest-school XD.

I watched a little bit of Astroboy when Adult Swim started broadcasting it, but... Well, I kinda lost some interest after Astroboy took a wire, and plugged it into the naked butt of a little boy-bot. :x It was in the first episode.

? FMA was based on a manga... very loosely, but the characters, setting, and basic story outline all came from the manga. A lot of it was still very different, though. Perhaps that was what you meant? Forgive me if I misunderstood.

I always thought the manga came after the anime but I just learned that the anime finished while the manga still continues...

Which I think is very brave.  Most animes try to adapt the manga EXACTLY and when the anime catches up with the manga the filler disease sets in.

*Views everyone replies and says* "Huh?!"  ???

Anyway, the first .Hack/Dot.hack was the most boring, but I'm not saying it's dumb, nor stupid. I did watch the whole show.

The early Ghost in the Shell was quite boring as well, until Stand Alone came.

Sonic X in the USA dub is boring. But the Japanese version is much better.

WTF a "Dinosaur King?!" It looks like a Poke'mon/Digimon/Monster Rancher/Epic Movie ripoff...... wait, what I just say?

I Hate all American Dubbed anime, there is no point. It's for retards or it is for children who can't read, but then it is also cut, so ultimately pointless.

So yeah, just about any dubbed anime is crap with 1 exception, Cowboy Bebop, now that (especially the film is decent if not great dubbed to American) but that's IT, ever, okay?!

I don't understand why people say naruto is bad, i mean... the first 70 episodes are excellent, but admittedly, after that it is SHOCKINGLY TERRIBLE. :thumb:

I have watched a lot of Anime... But I managed to not come across many bad ones because I read reviews before I acquire them.

Pokemon.

It's all fine and dandy when you're a kid, but the characters lack any real substance; hell, even as an 11 years old I thought it was a bit stretched after seeing the movie. Too much "friendship rulz" stuff. Sappy stuff, in other words.

Truth be told, I never watched much animes until last year, and most of them are darker stuff (Blood+, Elfen Lied, Monster). Also note that I've stopped watching Pokemon when I was 12, which would be nearly 8 years ago. So it might've changed.

All anime is terrible. The blue hair, the huge mouths, stupid jumping w/ moving background, stupid voices, the list goes on...
Well that was helpfull. [\sarcasm]

I can see that you are one of those guys who just basicly say Anime sucks. For those are all cliches. I watched plenmty anime with people who had all natural haircolours.
There are many anime with realistic facedrawings.
The backgroundthing is true for older stuff, but you barely see it in the newer ones.
Compared to amarican voiceacting japanese is godlike! (being subjective though)

The most boring ones I saw by the way are:

Pokemon
DBZ

It has already been discussed why.

That's a very opinionated comment. Have you seen every anime ever created. If not, then that comment doesn't have any form of validity. As for the blue hair comment, natural Asian colored hair is kind of blueish.

As for me, I don't like any of the mainstream ones. And I absolutely despise Pokemon and the dub of Yu-Gi-Oh.

Edit: I felt I was too harsh on Serenade in the original post, so it has been edited.

I'm going to say Ghost in a Shell...I thought it would be an awesome "giant robots fighting" type of anime...but like itachi said...its just a bunch a people talking, rarely any action at all. Oh, and those spider robot things with girly voices scare me...>_>

Oh yeah! I nearly forgot the Yu-Gi-Oh dub. It is terrible. They changed half of the series... Like when people died.
Really bad dub indeed.

Awesome Bro

I used to like DBZ, about 7-8 years ago, I actually enjoyed coming home from school to watch it.
I don't really watch Anime now, although I've seen the Devil May Cry series, and it rocks, the first four episodes have been english dubbed by Rueben Langdon, who did the voice for Dante in DMC3 + 4, so you know it isn't terrible !

The worst animes ? Naruto and Ghost in a Shell, how those two managed to make any money and stay on aire for more than 1 episode is beyond me, their a disgrace to television ! And now, here in UK, theres an Anime channel, and all thats ever on is Ghost in a Shell ! It's disgusting !

Naruto and Dragon Ball Z are stupidly boring. They have the idea in their head that kids want to see their heroes talk a LOT and change forms over the course of 5 episodes.

But Naruto Shippuden kicks ASS! It is funny, and it has less dialogue. I just wish that they didn't keep changing characters while a cool battle was going on.

Worst would be Hamtaro. What is the actual plot leading to?

Well I don't like it if there is a minimum amount of dialogue. Else it would be just action. I didn't like DBZ, because it hadn't enough dialogue. They were standing there for hours just starring at each other... boring....

how can a series where the moon, an entire planet, and thousands of buildings were blown up be boring? a guy gets cut in half. then his father gets cut in half. a guy dies, goes to hell, beats the shit out of everyone there, then comes back to earth. various different dudes turn into giant retard-strong gorillas and smash other dudes.

really, this is the kind of shit that's boring to you guys?

Er... Yes, indeed... It is always the same. Some bad guy turns up, who is super strong and no one can beat him. In the end he fights Goku. Oh Golu took some new form ad finished him off. Everyone is happy. Oh, another badguy...

And it was terrible how they could stretch 10 fucking seconds of time to like 20 episodes...
Its only 10 seconds till Goku arrives.
5 Episodes later...
It's only 8 seconds before Goku arrives...

Whoa they did and said all that in 2 seconds?

It was boring as hell!

In place of Goku put Ichigo and you have the formula for Bleach.

you can make anything seem boring with an overly simplistic analysis like that. o__o

and tbh i really dont remember what youre referencing, if it even happened.. haven't seen the series in years. But i remember that 'ten minutes before namek blows up' took like 5 episodes :P
even still, in that 5 episodes, a guy got cut in half, and an entire planet blew up. @__@
dbz just isn't one of them series where every day (episode) is a new adventure with a new lesson, loosely tied to a main storyboard. it wasn't a new problem, and a new solution, all in 23 minutes each episode. the fights were fucking epic, spanning across multiple episodes. the fact that they 'just stood there looking at each other' helped builded up the tension, and made the fights way more climactic imo. :}

True, very true. I just thought it an astute observation rather than a cynical attack on those anime.

DBZ though, I couldn't get through it. I've tried, seriously tried. Same for Naruto and Bleach. They just become disinteresting. Not for the fact that the problem, climax, resolution cycle didn't occur every episode but because as someone has most likely mentioned before, staring contests, shocked expressions, inner monologue, for 10 minutes should be made illegal. Some of the fighting scenes were very well done. From all those series. That just isn't enough compensation for me. But then again they are geared for a different demographic and I should just shut up.

lol so dbz moved a little slow at time.. i'll level with you there.

i probably like it so much because in 1999 dbz was bigger than jesus, and as a 4th/5th grade kid, you had to watch it.. otherwise you had nothing to talk about at school the next day.

There was a time when I got bored of DBZ mostly for all the reasons posted here(when critizising DBZ) but after a quick look the anime series today and the only thing I can think is "damn DBZ was good!"
I mean, there are like three formulas of anime series out there... and they only thing changing are the characters, and sometimes they dont even bother doing that!(like Yuyu hakusho/ HXH)
... sure DBZ had dull moments... being the saga with freeza one of them(lets not even mention GT)... and also some parts of the Cell Saga... but the Boo Saga was great!
Plus Toriyamas designs really look like fighters, with muscles and stuff... lately most anime characters look like even the wind could take them down, like they started smoking pot at the age of 7

nah.. DBZ ftw!!

Oh and staying on topic, The Worst/Most Boring Anime I Have Ever Watched... definitely Yugioh
