A larger scale drawing i decided to do since my dual screen monitors had "special needs"...

Any pointers on whats wrong with the person on the right? Cause I have an urge to redo the entire pose...

(Figure on the left): The hips look disjointed, and the upper limb portion of her right arm seems too short. Something about her abs seems misplaced, if you tried to draw her spine, how would it look? I think a large portion of this might stem from lacking fundamentals: build your character as a set of simple primitives to get you started, draw a rough representation of the spine if it's a profile view. Try to draw the hips how they should be connected so when you place the lower extremities they are positioned correctly. Don't draw clothes until you know the body is correct. Especially since, from what is visible, the skirt on the lady likely wouldn't go around her right leg. Having an imagination is a good start. Keep it up, but make sure the basics are strong before adding the layers of complexity.

(Figure on the right): Balance is way off. Try rotating your torso to the right with your right leg forward, you'll notice that the right hip, from the perspective you'd have there, would be in front of the left hip, whereas in this perspective you have the opposite. A portion of her forward lean by running would be slightly countered by the shift to the right/back that the pose would lend her, so showing she's still leaning forward that far offsets the image of balance. Her upper torso is twisted wrong. She's turning to her right and is directed to the perspective's right, but it looks as though her back would be broken: if you were doing a 3/4 view to the left of the perspective the positioning of her shoulders/neck would be correct, but she's doing a 3/4 view from the right, the contrasting upper torso with the shoulders/neck look very awkward. I think this stems from the fact that the twist to her right is too severe. You can look somewhat behind you like you want, but it would be slightly painful, and her neck would be somewhat eclipsed by her chin due to the forward lean that would still be present. Her neck would also show a much more drastic upward curve on the portion that is visible (the back of her neck.)

Edit:
I tried to do an example, but it's the first thing I've drawn in six years. @_@; My objectivity hasn't kicked in enough to know if I illustrated what I meant or not.

I got an idea for a character today, and I've only just got round to drawing it.
Although I coloured like a 2 Y/O I still think it looks good x'D
I also feel I'm getting better at drawing in general. :)

"What's your name?"
"R-K X 31."
"That's... An odd name... How about we give you something different?"
"Nah. I like my name."
Edit: Crit is always welcome, just don't be too harsh xP

hiccup, if you are interested in getting better at drawing I would suggest reading some Andrew Loomis to get you proportions down better.

I am actually! Although it's not something I need immediately, it's something I've always been interested improving.
Can you suggest anything specific, or should I search Andrew Loomis? ^-^
(Also, I think it would help if I had a rubber lol.)

All of Andrew Loomis's books are online for free so I always suggest his works as a resource. That, and the fact that they are also really good reads. The fastest way to improve is to practice realism/semi-realism.

Tbh hiccup I don't see how you are working on proper proportion. When you draw people there are certain proportions your follow in order to make a person look more correct. Right now it sort of looks like you are free-handing things. That's not a bad thing, but without a proper backbone it makes your drawing life a whole lot more difficult.

Also erasers are for the weak; pens are where it is at (but you gotta use a nice pen not done cheap-ass pen in your drawer).

Thanks Meness! You're the second person ton mention that - despite that wasn't the style in my head lols.

Haha, Amy! I don't think I have good fashion sense at all, but I did have this particular outfit in my head for a bit. C:

nice strawberry! He looks a little feminine but it definitely looks like a male. I also like the shading. Would like to see you do a brawnier guy.

I drew a picture I am proud of. The characters are named Radek and Elani. They once belonged in a role-playing story with some old friends, but I still feel drawn to them – particularly Radek. There was supposed to be a scene where he tries to get something out of a vending machine for Elani, or both of them, and when it doesn’t work he punches the glass. His hand is bleeding, but he doesn’t care. Basically he has a terrible temper, though he does care for Elani, his girlfriend.
