Numbers to indicate health, file-loaded player data, working defence recovery, different temp graphic for test enemy, removed debug data, smoothed animations, fixed prediction bugs, repaired the initialisation process

Looks like its coming along good. Are you coding that in XNA? or is that some hybrid ruby junk?

That looks pretty good. Obviously from VX though as regi had mentioned. But a little more editing should clean that right up. Looking great.
 
Replicating Pokemon's Secret Base. It has functionality but it won't be done for a few more days.

Its in pure C++ with the allegro game library, a library that gives drawing primatives and sound mixers as well as some timer and gpu access
 
@game_guy: that's awesome! Can you still interact with the objects you place? (i.e. place a bed that you can sleep in)

@Dr. Funk: When customizing the script you have to setup each object thats placeable, what I'm planning is that you'll be able to use commands from another event for an object. The configuration will look kind of like this for one object.
Code:
Object[item_id] = [character_file, character_hue, terrain, anywhere, direction, pattern, map_id, event_id]
The last 2, map_id and event_id don't need to be set. It'll check if the values exist and go from there. It'll be a little bit of work to configure some placeable objects but it'll be cool to be able to have a feature like this in a game. By the way, I love that screenshot. The graphics are awesome. :D
 
@Strawberry: Nice! Reminds me of "Tales of..."
The only problem is that the life and mana bars are misaligned. That sword icon could use some shading on the blade too... Also, is it supposed to be spelled "Abitlites"? :P

@Dr. Funk: Wow, that's pretty great! But the lampposts are on the road? o_O

@Dr.Funk: I like the custom graphics, they're very original and it looks put together real well!

I realize there might some problems in the next map. I'm still not to comfortable with it, I feel there's a lot of negative (or useless) space that I need to get rid of to make it have a better "crowded town" feel.


 
TheScripter, you should head on over to the Mapping Workshop :thumb: The plainest problem here is cutting down on empty space, which said workshop should easily fix. As for the city, apart from making the walking paths smaller, fill it up with NPCs! Not all need to be interactive, but humans and animals who seem to have a purpose (e.g. walking from home to store) make these places all the more livelier.
 
@Regi: Thanks! However, I already have a lot of NPCs in there (like over 30) I just forgot to include them in the screenshot :/ And yea, I'll head over there, thanks for the suggestion :)

It was heavily based on Tales of series, that's probably why. Also, I told my fiance, Star, about what you said with Life and Mana, but he said he did it on purpose and won't change it. I changed the menu some and the icons. As well as "Abitlites" to Abilities. :D

\(^_^) Hi! I got bored and decided to play around with some graphics. So here's a screenshot from me. o.o Not sure about the one window on the top with the shutter slightly open. .... The rest of them look pretty good to me, but that one, not sure about. Anyway, I know the left side is a bit open, but I haven't found the right trees to go there, or what to put there. I imagine this is a ranch, and I... don't or haven't EVER visited a ranch. @_@ no clue what to add, besides chicken houses and such. There IS an error on the house, but I need another graphic to go there, and haven't finished it YET!
