New status area is done. Working on target selection/help now.

Sprites and stuff are still placeholders. Just get seriously bored of seeing the same stuff over and over. Only the interface is going to remain.
 
It's great to see people going further and further into customizing their rpgm games.
Taylor: that looks great. But when the command menu isn't there, what is? Empty space? Also the command menu looks a little odd being over top of the actor hud, and being taller too.

When it isn't there, the Moves/Defend/Items/Run command is there - and it doesn't overlap. It's slightly taller to fit in-line with the former menu once it gains an extra command later in the game. I lined up the overlap of that menu with the actor face cuts to try and make it seem somewhat natural.
 
That's awesome, Plague180. Can't wait to see it in action.
Taylor: I like the little button descriptions. The interface is pretty clean.

I haven't posted on this forum in years... can't believe it's still the same screenshot topic from 2006.

I almost get the feeling the screenshot topic was merged with the old one. I don't remember it being this old.

That screenshot feels so old-school styled with the clearly repeating textures and the palette. I like the player design.

I merged them all in a spate of nostalgia a couple of years back.
 
^I don't get it. You are playing as circleheaded robot who need water to run or something? ;p

PS. Use alt+print screen to capture only active window, not whole screen. ^^

also, the brooms and mickey are in completly different perspectives. the brooms are recognizable, but mickey is not. (which is what gameboy was trying to say, i think)
 
It's me rushing some basic graphics for a game I've gotta make in a few hours. :p The graphics are placeholders and the best I could do to represent what they're placeholding, haha.
 
That is really nice. My only critique is that the fog at the top of the screen is a little strong (it takes the focus from the girl under the tree, which, for me, was the best part). I think it would look better if you took it out or dimmed it. Otherwise, good job!

Thanks! I feel it really fits the deeper feel of the series. Since the scene there is meant to be something you see in the end of the first game. A moment of huge change.

Hmm, I do see what you mean. The girl is the most important part, just as you said; so you make a good point! I will see what I can do in the final version, hehe. Thanks for the feedback!
