That Heads-Up Display sticks out too much. It should kind of blend with the graphics. Yet the scene of the game is dark and mysterious, yet your HUD is bright and sticks out to much.

I really like the HUD. It's exactly as a HUD should be - i.e. as compact and unimposing as possible while still making it easy to see the stats it displays. The background to it is nice, too, and helps it stand out against the background.

@Numb
Please ignore the brightness of the HUD, that will be toned down. Feel free to comment on everything else! :biggrin:

@Wyatt
Thank you. I am going to tone the HUD down a little bit, since a lot of areas in the game are going to be darker and less bright happy-go-lucky typical RTP, but overall the layout will remain the same.

Green and blue bars are for health and power respectfully. The boxes to the right are for your sword (Shift), and your primary/secondary weapons (Ctrl/Alt). I have a lot of cool weapons set up already, but I just want to show some of your more traditional weapons first. Thanks for the comments everyone, but I was also looking for some critique on the actual mapping/screen tone.

I really like the charaset in the screenshot, But the first one that has the rainbow, it looks like a triangle rainbow, and in the last map, the rocks and some tiles look like it's in a row, or something, I think you were a bit lazy or something :3

Trying not to be a huge snob or insult you in any way.

Thank you and have a nice day!

A few new screenshots from my game Shangri-La

That floor tile isn't going to work, it throws the perspective off pretty badly.

basically, you need to select a tile that has better lighting. The problem with that tile is the light graduation going from top to bottom, really in this perspective that's usually only appropriate to use on walls.

Let's say that this is a Tavern...

...that this is an Inn Lobby...

...that this is a Castle Lobby...

...that this is an Armory in the castle...

...And that this one is a Castle Dungeon.

I hope you guys like them n_n

@ Johanna
What shall I say...?
Good work with the lights, nice custom tiles, good use of room, good use of the C-Tab tiles... All by all, some excelent indoor maps.

Welcome to the site, Johanna. I must say considering it's RMVX I'm really impressed by those screenshots. They look more like pictures than tiles thrown on a screen and look realistic enough to be able to play without picking out errors or duplicated tiles.

Mark107. That's a great screenshot. The placement is very nice.

Crit:
The red rain sort of contrasts with the rest of the picture. Look at the dot on the tent.
Also, for the tree in the lake, the flower of the lilypad looks like it's attached to the tree.

Even so it's a superb map

Some new screenshots of the particle systems we're using in the combat portion of the game as well as some indicators on how large battles can get. (Soon we shall trump even Star Wars in ships/per-frame! Muhahahahahaha!)
