Experimenting with an underwater look for a new project. I haven't edited it yet but I think a lot of the vegetation in the desert tileset would translate well. Imagin the trees as pink coral and the cacti sponges. The weeds could be left as seaweed or recolored as anemone.
I don't really like the rtp water fog but I'll use it until I find something better. I'm also using a picture to create that blue-ish green atmospheric haze, I don't want to simply tint the screen blue.

I created this mirage effect a while back as a heatwave thing. I think it would help the underwater feel. The problem is that it cycles between two transparent images that are above the player; minor ghost look standing next to objects. It also lags a bit so it wouldn't be practical on larger maps with other parallel events. Here's an animated gif:

Don't know why, but that waterfall looks pretty weird. maybe cause it's going over the bridge. But I do understand what effect you're trying to capture though, waterfall over bridge, just looks weird imo.

The waterfall on the left though, is really wrong. It's falling from nowhere (from this view anyways) and it just falls to a wall?

Pretty good, might wanna try using tints though (just my opinion)

Imo the first one would be fine if the whole game was underwater. But if the you have only a few underwater scenes then I would go with the third one. I think that makes sense. Idk think sponge-bob. You could tell it was underwater but you couldn't tell they were underwater.

@coyotecraft. i think those maps look AWESOME. That idea of yours for the mirage is great! Wish i ahd thought of it! i only did a moving leaves one.

Awesome Bro

If everything there is custom, I REALLY want to play it, IF however, they're rips of some kind (Cant say I'd recognise the game anyways), then naaah...

But it really does look pretty damn amazing...

The "Scale: Huge" model for the Terrakin ship set is mostly complete now. We just need to texture it up, add firing and engine points, and add a specular and glowmap. :3
Also, engine effects:

This is a preview of the battle system I'll be using for my game, Monstructs(link in sig). What do you think guys?

I think you should change the font and windowskin: They seem incongruous and not at all within the same style.

Maybe you should also get rid of the words "Life" and "AP" and replace them with an image - a symbol rather than the words?

Also, I <3 your screenie Firgy. I still don't believe that's RMXP though. :P

Hey guys. I'm kind of new around here, and came across this forum. So I'm going to post a few screenies from my very first attempt at making a game in RPGMaker XP. It's called Phantasy Star IV: Beneath a New Light. So, here goes.

Credit goes to MogHunter for his awesome scripts. I styled the menus myself, though.

The Natives can be quite hostile towards humans in here. Credit goes to the Inquisitor for the beautiful tilesets.

Dark screen tone, I know. I'm going to see if I can't make it a little lighter.

Title screen.

Hope you like ( or dislike ) it.

You might want to seriously consider changing the font you use. The current one is way too small and narrow and it's somewhat difficult to read. I can imagine players having difficulty reading the font ingame. Generally, the best fonts to use are simple ones. I'm not saying use Times New Roman or anything, but fonts should be legible before they're stylish. ;)

Any ideas for a good, legible font? I was thinking of using Verdana or Myriad Pro. Are those any good? I particulary love the Myriad Pro font, but I need a second opinion.
