look out your window. Is there a fog like that covering the houses near you.
As you can see above the plain map looks totally boring without the fog. Also in my area it's always foggy, especially during fall season. 30meters after our house the forest starts and often you can't even see so far, that's what kinda inspired me here.

Nature's not like that.
Worst thing to say ever. Is there any XP/VX map that is truely accurate to nature? I don't think I ever saw one.
But I get the point, guess I really gonna leave it out then. Even though I thought it gives that extra "mystic touch".
Hrmm... Good point. Try putting it back in, just not as opaque, make it a bit lighter, so that it still adds to the map but not so distracting from the world around it.

Keep the fireflies as bright as they were, though. They were cool, and will boost the mystic touch like you say :D

The ocean is really nice, but the mountains have that screwed up look of the autotile, try making space in your chipset for the four mountain corners (and maybe some more tiles for thin mountains) so that the edges of the mountains are not so jagged. You may find these pieces if you look around for other RM2k world map tilesets...

The Third Day

The most infamous clash of the Eastern Alliance and the rebel Ragnarok Organization. Last year, in the spring of 1863, Ragnarok staged a series of attacks on Alliance excavation sites near the the Gradian Kingdom's eastern border. The Alliance pinpointed the origin of the attacks as being near the town of Balgan. However, unable to locate an actual staging base, Alliance officials rounded up 50 townspeople in Balgan. Half of those townspeople were imprisoned, and the other half were publicly executed via firing squad. The official Alliance story is that all of these people were either Ragnarok sympathizers or directly implicated in the bombings.

However, according to Ragnarok dissidents and some citizens, while Balgan has been linked to being correspondent to Ragnarok, the townspeople themselves were actually randomly selected and imprisoned/executed as an example to not only Ragnarok and their sympathizers, but to the entire world, as to how serious they were about terminating the rebellious elements. Since then, the world over has called this event The Third Day, considering the event culminated on the third day of the attacks and the ensuing investigation.

Fog is often used as a substitute for good mapping. This is tacky; don't do it. Personally I wouldn't use it even if the scene were supposed to be foggy, but uh, I'll refrain from judging you people that far, anyway.

Also, Feld, FF6 rips? Looks nice, although I probably would've picked a more obscure game.

I found it on dafont (Temphis I think)

It was inspired by the Celtic runic alphabet, and it is exactly what I wanted for this language. It's a real storie, not some letters put at random. You will understand it maybe later ^^ (but in french, sorry :dead: maybe a translation later. )

So, this is my first post here in like a year or something. I've started making a game in GM called LM Papap's Adventure. The game is far from done, and is, so far, only aviable in swedish.
I made a little picture showing off the graphics, all made by me. The picture isn't from the game, actually. My graphics card is all f***ed up, so I hade to make a picture by pasting tiles together.

So, you play as a yellow chicken called LM Papap. His wife's eggs has been stolen by someone, and it's your job to fint them, and get revenge on the one who stole the eggs.

So, here goes:

I'm loving it, Delmaschio. Windowskin and battleback look fantastic. A few battler sprites look like they could use better shading, though (like the bottom guy's hammer and pants).

izze, it looks nice. Everything's quite simple and cute graphically. I hope the sky and clouds aren't like that, though (clouds are stretched out and pixelly; and the sky's shading is uneven).

Here's the zoomed out view of my capital city. Housing and commercial sections are the bottom areas; more important government buildings are near the top (barracks, library, etc). North is the palace, and west leads to the docks. Any comments on the mapping or layout?

I think you're going to want to stay away from mixing the red and blue coloured roofs together (the building in the lower right)

The layout seems pretty simple and navigable, but a tad boring. Walking through the city could get mundance quickly. My favourite things about cities are the little hidden sidestreets but your city looks more like a fortress.

Try joining some of the buildings up, maybe? Just so they're not sticking out from the ground like lego bricks or something. Give less places the player can walk and some changes in elevation never hurt anyone :3

The park in the middle looks very boring. I'd suggest looking at some maps of Cairo, especially th more "traditional" districts. That's the way an interesting medieval city would of looked like.

Yeah, I've been having difficulties spicing up the center park. For a major recreation area in the greatest city, it doesn't seem that appealing. I tried googling some maps but didn't find anything. You have any images that could help?

And thanks for the suggestion, Dev. I'll try to fit in/enlarge more buildings to create alleyways. There doesn't seem to be any room to add elevation, though. Unless maybe I do something with the center park, but I'm out of ideas.

Looking good as always, Axe! I'm impressed by your ability to use Breeze; I suck at it
That's because Axerax has Green Raven do the spriting

How's this?

As for the park, I'd suggest laying off the symmetry, and getting rid of man-made hings all together. Make it look more natural...
most medieval parks/courtyards look like this:

I think he meant my mapping skills, because I'm better than some people, a lot of people really don't know how to use the breeze tilesets correctly, which is not Green Raven's fault. But yu are correct he is my spriter and does a great job with it.

Thanks for the comments.
