The main thing i see that needs work is the cliff wall, tiles.

Damn, this pic actually makes me think "horror", i don't know what it is but the character fits with that theme :thumb:
Grass tiles too much though bud.
 
Was gonna work on this more until I showed it but I've grown impatient.

I posted to you on the other forum, and commented on the trees, but after you said you wanted to get things done, I think it's more than enough, I would GLADLY play a game with those graphics, the trees could have more shapes and volume in them, but I prefer to let you work on the game itself :)

Imo one of the things you need most now is contrast, make the shadows darker as well as the cliff wall and the shading on the bottom of the tree (leaf area).
Also add some shadow to those flowers so they stand out better from the ground, use darker outlines on some pieces like the flowers and stones on the ground.

E-Actually, the cliff wall might be dark enough, this monitor screws me up sometimes :/
 
Character have six frames and this sprite doesn't have standing frame(i have separate files for running and walking) so all frames are used for animation . It's looking pretty good, trust me. ;)

PS. Sorry if I done grammar mistakes. English isn't my first language.

Also I like the fact that the character is smaller than the rtp chars, since in real life our height isn't the same as the height of a wall.
Edit:
The only things I don't like are those outlines for the trees, they "stand out" too much. I hope you know what I mean :crazy:

I have edited the top outline of the tree to a lighter shade leaving the bottom area at its darker shade, thanks pal.
E-Little missing floor tiles made darker too.

Also did you only change the tree for yourself or did you edit your post too? (I don't want to pester, I'm just curios how it looks now)
 
@WalkingAbomination: Looks lovely. The whole thing works really well. Are you going to be releasing it along with the template?

I'm aware that there is a tree overhanging in the top left corner, and that there is an error in the shadow of the boat house thing. Other than that, comments?

It looks like a very good map Fox5 but there some small things I noticed.
1) The small waterfall appears to be hitting the ground too far from where it started, making it look like it isnt going straight down.
2) Above the boats house thing, you havnt rounded off the mountain correctly.
3) And also behind the boat house halfway up the wall you have used the base of the cliff piece of the map.

Thats about all I can remember seeing, hope it helps.
 
Yeah, that looks amazing. That from a new game that you're working on?

My only complaint is that the bottom of the waterfall doesn't mesh well with the water, but that's really a personal thing.
 
Thanks. Yes, the map is from a new game, but at the moment, it's just a storyline, and me testing tilesets. I'm not sure what you mean by the waterfall, but I can change the autotile if it doesn't fit.
