Heey Twin, nice map again. Nice atmosphere and I like you're characters. But why is the road going over the water, and where is the waterfall coming from? It looks a bit strange.

Well, it's a dreamworld. That should be an explanation by itself. =P But just to clarify, it's a series of floating islands. The waterfall at the top comes from an island above it. You travel between islands by surfing up and down the waterfalls. The 'top' of the waterfalls can be reached by walking over a few-tile-wide lake on a road (as can be seen at the bottom).

But very observant of you, regardless. :)
 
Twin I've gotta be honest I really like your custom-ish graphics. The style is better than HK and more realistic than RTP in my opinion. I always thought Kaizer and Half-Kaizers took up too much of the screen and that RTP looked too Final Fantasy'd with the characters having heads taking up like a third of their body size. Suffice to say, the screenshot has really interested me in the game, I like it alot. I think I'll start keeping an eye on your project from now.

The only thing I don't like is that tree in the top left, it looks very drawn, I think it still needs a little shading and some shadowing. Otherwise it's great. This proportionalised RTP style looks really impressive.

Ah you should have said you reduced it, i made a little example of the door for ya too, i explain what i mean better this way.
I raised it back a bit and i added more to that bar across the door, metal bar is maybe a bit too long though.

E- The bed would look flat even against the wall, i think some darker color to define the folds of the sheet would help a lot.

Loving the original/edited graphics and characters, i really like the look of the female with the red hair too, and the lady bug is an awesome character as well.

I don't know, the graphics of the characters clash horribly agaisnt the blown up seiken densetsu tiles, maybe because the characters are dark as hell and everything else is kinda blurry, ..maybe try darkening the sorroundings or lightening the characters up? Don't know that it would work but worth a try i think.
E- You can also try opening this tileset in photoshop or gimp and sharpening the whole thing up, you'd have to put in some work to fix the little things but it might look better.
 
giangnhim: You really need to fix the character portraits in that last screenshot, the black is making ugly patches all over the place. Just put a white square around them or something, the tranparency is all screwed up.
 
I don't know I got bored and opened up RPG maker XP.
I had an idea to make a full RPG maker XP game with the default RTP, no edits no imports for pictures or sounds or anything. Basic systems, though I would make more systems with events and no scripts. Just thought it would be a challenge, anyway here is a screen.

Note:Yes the light around the fire will be gone, that was to show my brother something with events.

My attempt at a horse stable/tavern. The horses need to be replaced.
 
The windows on the top, try removing the rectangular corners at the top and just have the frame.
For the bottom pic, remove some of the hay boxes to leave 3 or 4 around the side, the two at the front don't look right for perspective.
 
The one problem I've alway had with VX is that the sprites are way to tiny. :p put a gate on the stable and it'll look alright. Even though the horses are like giants to the VX people. But the mapping is great looking. I don't remember who posted it but whoever posted the last screenshot.

@Trix and Mark: Those are pretty good. Its good to see that people are starting to learn how to use fogs and tones to a great degree. :)

@Trix: I don't like the character however. It just seems really out of place to me. :p

Teach me screen tones. I always end up with an ugly bright screen if I try to tint it to just one color. :') So I end up using it just for grayscales, brightness and darkness... (And night, of course.)
 
neo rpgomaniak: I really like that tileset, but the waterfall looks really out of place. It's too blue compared to the very dull water it's falling into. Either change the colour of the waterfall or the creek below it so that the two don't contrast as much. Aside from that, it's pretty, although it wouldn't hurt to tone down that overlay a tad.
