Thanks for the feedback guys.
Yes turning WOULD look bad (like Earthbound), but most of the controlling happens on the highway where you're just changing lanes and going one direction. I plan on allowing use of the vehicles in cities, its just that you get to buy whatever car or motorcycle you want. Which means animating a nice turn in all directions for every car would be a HUGE pain, and I've already taken steps to reduce the amount of animating and I'd like to keep it that way.
Use of vehicles is almost entirely for fun. Like most of the game, vehicles in Beyond the Veil are optional--battles, crafting, mini-games, travel... you basically do whatever you want as you progress the story.

I plan on replacing as much of the RTP as I need, but I enjoy using it as well. It has proven to be a key factor in increasing productivity... like 1000%, no exaggeration.

Atemu...
I just color picked from an image of real asphalt. From that and other paintings I've noticed that asphalt is a dark grey with yellow in it. I think this is why it always looks so warm. Anyways, I made a square of that then did filter>add noise in photoshop. Mission Complete. For the stripes I just did a stripe with 'Overlay' blending. I tried some shadows for the edges and highlights for the center, but it didn't look better or worse and simpler is always better if anything, so...

Really nice map and all that, but why is she standing directly ON the sheets? Is she angry so she jumps around in her bed and goes "I don't wanna!"? Honestly I find that bed pretty confusing since she is not IN it

Otherwise a really nice feel, good map. It looks very mysterious for being the heaven tileset. Well done.

She's supposed to be dead. Because of that reason, I didn't want to put her under the sheets. People who visit should be able to see her.

Ah, that answers that ^_^ All in all, I just learned something new about using that flower autotile on top of the other autotile. Nice work.

Some minor editing to her body will make it look like shes lying down, not standing on the bed.

Okay then. Could you give me an exampel on how to edit the sprite, so it looks like she's lying straight on the bed? I thought the standing position could be used as a lying straight pose.

Look at some of the RTP 'Down' charsets.

Nice map, nice setting. I wonder if that creature is hostile or friendly...

Anyway, let me come with a suggestion. Make the cliff where they are standing on also stand in the water. The fact that the baseland shapes around the cliffs like that is very unnatural. I find it possible to look much better if they were dug into the water as well.

Black Shadow, those screenshots are fantastic!  As everyone else has mentioned, I'd edit that characterset on the bed if you want her to look like she's laying down dead.  On your second screen shot, the back of the cave wall looks a little too straight (unless it's man-made).  Also, the water goes much higher there than it does on the island in the middle. The water goes up one and a half tiles on the back wall, where the island is sitting in shallow water.  Make it one or the other, but not both.

Also, do you have a topic open for that project?

That stuff looks great, but the cliff is too tall now. According to the walls, it should be squeezed into the ceiling :P No offence, but it looks pretty weird this way. Try scaling it down three tiles or so.
