Well, thank you, Prexus. I'm pretty much aware of everything that you just told me :) As for the flower pot, it's a placeholder, and i'll take care of it later. That's why i never wasted time adding details to it. the light-source will be from upper-left, as i always do. The reason why there's no shadows in front of the house is because the roof isn't nearly finished. :)

Alright, here's a couple maps of my game, which I had to start over due to some problems with the other. This is what I have so far of the "world map". Since large maps (anything above 250x250) seem to lag my computer to hell and back (even 1.8ghz AMD Sempron, 1gig RAM, 256 video card.. and that's WITHOUT events on the map), I'm going to be breaking up every section into, at most, 120x120 sized maps. The following image is actually two photos merged into one. Their sizes are 31x27 (WxH). I do have the - mostly - finished product of the insides of all 3 buildings, however I don't want to post those just yet.

xero, this is my opinion, but I think the walls would look better if you made a place where the door could be placed, like a border for the door to be placed in. :3 But I still do like the tileset.

@Rye
Thank you :) I was considering this a very few minutes ago, by making the wall a bit "thinner" about 2-3 pixels around the door. Which would mean 3 extra tiles, but that shouldn't be a problem ;) But hey, that just might be a waste of time, since i'm making my own doors, autotiles, and everything else that will be needed for that package ^^

It never ceases to amuse me how video game fans will complain endlessly and loudly about male characters showing flesh, but there's nary a whisper about the even more scantily clad female characters.

Hypocritical, ne?

Anyway, been working on the tileset a bit more while my internet was down. Decided to mute the colors a bit, although I still want to steer far away from pastels. I'm very frustrated by the tree, I just cannot get it to look 3D. Any suggestions (on that or on anything else) would be welcome.

Finally started on getting the wood shaded. Because I changed the color of the grass, I need to redo the autotiles for it. Don't worry, they won't stay square and blocky. I'll also make nice rounded shapes for the cobblestone the same way I did for the White Ties cobblestones.

Awesome Bro

I was about to comment on the tree...then i actually read your post ':|

The tree's shading is too consistant throughout i think? If you look at an RTP tree it goes from blinding light green to a very dark green the further down the tree. But with the way you've sprited the leaves, i can't see this being an easy thing to fix. Maybe try making the leaves larger & more defined first, then follow the RTP tree for shading...I dunno, just an idea.

It looks great, though. I love the roof :)

@Diagoale - That sprite is really nice. Credit to the artist man :)

Although the roofs are really good, how come the roofs edges are much sharper than say the stone walls edges?
It draws your eyes to the roof, i think it stands out too much. But never the less the rest of the tilset looks really good:)

@MeisMe: Looks pretty good. Although, you could make the fog more transperant. There are a few good options on the fog window that are often neglected..

Edit: If you put the canopy tile on the third layer and a different canopy underlapping on the second, it would look nicer.

Been a looooong time. I have been back awhile, I'm sure some people remember me..but I lost my original account I guess..suckage...I don't know if most my good friends noticed I was back or just didn't care.. *CRY*

Heh..anyways figured what the heck I will post a couple newer shots from my(/SKetches) intro sequence..

I find that offensive. I don't consider myself a video game fan.

( @Despain: I'm sorry, I found this statement too ironic to pass up quoting. :) )

I tend to have little respect for the atypical game with female warriors whose armor barely covers the most tender of their assets. Of all the characters I've designed (my wife draws my designs) only one would I consider only slightly dressed, and that's only because we liked the fact that she has blue skin. My wife and I both shake our heads in resignation at the "naked armor" designs. When we first saw late-game plate mail armor in World of Warcraft long ago, we couldn't believe it.

The common excuse is either: 1. i dun care lolz or 2. It's MAGICAL armor. Which I find funny, since if a male was looking for an equal advantage in battle, wouldn't they wear a skimpy outfit that protected "just" as well as their plate mail suit, which is much heavier and more cumbersome.

Edit: Only the first line was in response to Despain directly. The rest is just an expansion upon what ccoa said. Sorry for any misunderstandings.
