The tileset looks great Arcanum, and i really like the tree leaf area as well as the tepee, only thing that bothers me is that chimney on that tent, doesn't look bad just weird is all.

I love that tileset as well. I can't wait to start my own maps in that one.

Well my game is coming along nicely and to show some of the idea's I was having I took all overworld map I have right now, and I put them together how they would look together as one big world map.

Remember you can go all 4 directions on most maps unless there is an ocean or something else blocking it. The maps that don't in this picture probably have not been finished by me. But being a one man team can be a bit hard on the mapping. Most of what you see here will be in the second tech demo which I'm releasing somewhere this week, or early next. Depending on how much time I have to work on it.

Enjoy:

Not putting the picture on the forums itself because it's wayyy to big and it would fuck up the forum layout

Small note: The bridge over the mine has been taken out, I see it was still in there.

You're a fucking mapping tank, dude.

Agreed, thats absolutely ace Lisker. I just worry how long it would take to get from one end to the other! Do you intend to have other means of transport, like boat or airship or something? Else it might get tiring traipsing up and down all the time...

Yes, there will be a horse very early in the game which will get you places fast. And I'm thinking of putting in a sort of carriage taxi system that lets you go to cities instantly later on. But I'm not sure yet.

The horse will be a fact though.

And even on foot it's not too bad. So It shouldn't be a worry, on a second note, for him It was too late though:

@Racheal
I don't think I need to tell you, you're battlers are awesome but one thing to watch on the humanoids you have there... Kix to me looks sorta farther back than the other three. While she's drawn perfectly proportioned to herself she is not drawn in proportion to the other battlers. Easy thing to keep in mind to keep them consistant is that the piliminary circle you draw for the base of the head should always be the same size no matter how tall or short the characters are heads are usually very close in size.

@Lisker
Did the guy who's now bones write that help? If he did I really don't think those letter could last that long to a person's full decomosing. I mean it's close to the water; high tide would whipe that sucker out. And even if the water never reached it, winds toss sand around so easily and not to mention animals tromping all about. Perhaps if it where done with small stones instead...

Hehe, I was really just playing around with the writing in the sand. Not to mention if you walk a couple of tiles up there is a building there with a fisherman in it so they wouldn't of died =P.

I'm actually working on a stone one and editing the ruins tiles to make up a town that sunk into the sand.

Testing out new elements of a tileset, and the start of a map.

This is the start of the first paid-members only part of Vengeance. This is the Zen Temple, and it serves as a sort of base, for the Temple Knights. (This is what paid-members will be called, in Vengeance). You complete a chain of quests to reach this spot, and from here, you join the Temple Knights themselves in a quest, and then you can access all parts of the game.

Some UFAQBMAWBAIWSSQH:
(Un-frequently asked questions but might as well be as it will stop stupid questions, hopefully):

Where is that water coming from!!??Lolziisgoodmapperbetterdanu
It's magic.

How can that tree live there? Idiot.
It's magic.

How come it isn't in ruins?
Not all temples are old ruins, unlike most RPG's would have us believe.

Wut is dat path lolz?
Just guidelines while I make the map.

This place is the Zen Temple. It was built by highly skilled Craftsmen, and magicified by Wizards (who live in a grand tower which is part of the temple itself). It is in worship of the God Zen, deity of War and Nature. (I wanted to go against the general cliche of a god of war and fire, a god of nature and love, etc.)

This part os just the Great Hall, and a corridor. :)

Wait a second. How can that tree be there? And the water, where does it come from? And seriously...those paths look horrible. XD Just kidding.

Overall it looks good, if a bit small for a temple. The way it extends east, I would assume that this is only one wing of a larger complex. Would this be a safe assumption? Also, there seems to be a weird clump of pixels where the waterfalls hit the water below, but that might be from capturing something in the middle of it animating.

Thanks, I hadn't noticed that about the waterfalls.

Yeah, this is just a small wing branching off the temple. It's gonna be quite a bit bigger than that, with smaller rooms and arenas, shops, etc, and a large garden.

No that is like 15 maps put together in photoshop. I mapped em so they would merge together seamlessly almost. But I merged some of them already to save maps because I get a feeling I'm going to need them, so I limited them to 100x100 100x110 so they fit together well and make a nice bigass world.

This is about a normal piece of the worldmap and this one is 100x110

!!!Exaple of a square!!!

Besides nothing a good anti lag script won't fix. But I have no probs with lag so far.

Looks great noobo!

If you think anything is missing, it's probably the lack of trees.  However, if it's not a forest full of a lot of trees its fine!
