It's a small animation that plays, it starts as a small circle then expands outwards to about the general radius at which you can find traps and objects.

Working hard to get a 2nd demo out where I show more of the playable content before I bring out a whole chapter. Working on tons of quests and eventing everything in the first town so you can interact with it. Here are some screens:

An old soldier without a job ended up on the street after the war was over. He gives some quests, that is, is you ever wake him...

Work-in-Progress Menu system. The white and black circles are part of my morality system: you get light points and dark points for various actions. The bar measures how dark or light you are. AP is an experience replacement system. Holding is part of my Key Item Holding system, which has you hold key items in order to interact them with the environment. Where it says "Morning, Prima" means that it is morning on the first day (there are seven days with latin-esque names) Obviously you also have money and location down there too. Finally, Tabula Mens is a license board-esque advancement system.

I don't really like the background so much...I'm trying to think of a replacement that doesn't clash with anything.

@second_crimson: That's a really nice clean menu. I like the systems you have as well. I don't like the background either, I'd use something that fits the wooden-board-ish window skin around the menu items. I can't think of any specific suggestions on what to use though.
@djzalzer: Pretty neat, reminds me of the bank hold-up in Arcanum. Can't wait to try the point and click system.

Anyway, my turn:

Erelia is a detective character that's involved in several quests. Whenever you hire her to solve a problem, the cutscenes change to something resembling film noir with narration by that character. As usual, the tileset was made by by Ocean's Dream~

I also uploaded a small part of the game's intro to youtube, it's not much but I'm proud of it. You could also see it in its original resolution here. :)

I'm pretty sure I've never posted any of my maps on here so c&c would be great =D

@The Man - There seem to be darkish splotches on the border, as well as a noticeable circle encompassing everything. Could it be a result of the fog/picture you're using? Other than that, it looks good. Lighting looks really nice.

@Cowlol - Thank you! I'll work on that background. I like your screen quite a bit, seems very cinematic. Although there seems to be one very red pixel on the person sitting down...

Yes it is. I filled in the overlapping area's of the fog with black, but the real backround was a slight reddish. He he. Small mistake. Thank you!

The trees in the bottom seem to be bigger. Why is that? I mean not that it looks bad but it looks like those trees are up on a hill or something.

Is that a picture or did you edit the Tile with those enlarged trees.

I like the map a lot, it's my kinda style of mapping. Nice job.
