The Screenshot Thread

Hrmm well I think they should scroll to the other side then the new game area should appear. But maybe thats just me. Because as of now the picture is to far to the right of the screen. Notice how the text is a little bit ahead of it? Either way not bad. It should be nice to see a Blood Fan Game coming out. :) but great job!

Thanks Makasu, I just need a little break from A Wayward Dream, lol, and well Blood+ is my favorite anime so I just thought hell why not.

I've done a little more work to it. Added a few things and changed some.

I thinking of making the left side lightly transparent, and having screenshots from episode 1 and 2 scroll underneath, but I dunno...

@Calibre
I was originally going to do that, but I just can't find the right font to suit the name and the story...>_> Any suggestions?

Yeah I was thinking that, but I really couldn't think of anything else to add and I know that bloody anime inside out >_>. I like my scrolling images idea though, haha.

Just that change ruins it. The clash is really bad. A font doesn't need to be extravagant. Just use something simple, all in caps - and it won't look out of place. Unless your very graphically minded people often mess fonts right up. Simplicity is key.

Also I can't say I agree that the first versions positioning is off. It looked fine. I don't even know what Blood is, but you want to try and track down a crisper logo for it. It does seem a little blurry.

Working on my game pretty hard lately, specially with the mapping. Since I haven't mapped since I last used RM2k3 I wasn't very used to the 3rd layer. These are the results:

This is the world the way I'm planning it, it's going to be free roaming, w/o a world map, except when on a boat/airship.

These are 4 different maps.

This is one row up from the forest village, the idea is that you can go north, east, south and west in every direction on almost all the maps, unless it's a maze type of thing of course.

This is mostly basic RTP with tons of small edits from me and some of other people whom I credited in my game ^.^.

This is my edit of the Zenith TBS:

This is the inside of my houses:

Danm that was a lot o.o;; hehe hope you all like it. And any critic is welcome!!

Hey! Not bad for your first maps using RMXP! Most are actually really interesting.

My suggestions to you would be add more detail. The outlines are great, but I think you need a bit more detail using different tiles. Also, some of the forest maps are a tad dark and many of the colors don't have a good contrast level.

All in all though, very nice. =)

Yeah, but I'm not a real sucker with contrasts and graphical stuff. I try to figure out as much as I can using photoshop. as for details, how would you suggest details? As in the outside maps or inside? Details as in coloring/fogs/screentones or more like putting smaller objects in the map?

Because when I start doing the fine details of a map, I'm afraid I'll end up randomly placing some stones etc. And then it will become cluttered. Also I have to keep in mind not to make the forests TOO dense because the monsters will need space to walk haha.

Thanks for your advice ^^

I think they look pretty wicked. The forest is pretty well structured, things look like they belong where they are placed, like flowers uner a big tree, rocks in patches of dirt. Alot of times you see in forest maps people put a rediculious amount of junk everywhere. There will be bushes and branches and rocks and flowers just lying about. A broken branch lying in the water with no trees around it, that makes sense~!!Not. No problems from what I can see, very nice work I like it.

I'm referring mostly to the outside maps, and adding more tiles on the ground.

But dude, what you are saying about cluttering and space is all so true. I have the same problem myself...I'm so scared to put flowers or stones down because I think it will become redundant or ugly...or too cluttered. My advice is to keep adding things then going in game to see how it looks. Also, take a look at other peoples maps to see how they have done it. Not saying to copy their style, but maybe get a sense of how it could be done, and use what you like best.

Good luck!

@badmonur: Thanks!

@Elias: Yeah I hate making details outside. There is like this really thin red line between a maze of crap on the map and having to much open space. I played so many games with crap all over the map that you had to walk around. I hate that.

Seems like he made a screenshot of a map he made then used it as a panorama...haha never thought of that. Good idea!

Looks great too.

Aye, I took a screenshot of the actual town at 1/2 zoom and used it as a panorama. It looks a lot prettier during the day, but you can only go there during the day after you've finished the act =x

P.S. 50 Di credits if anyone figures out where I got the name "Unchained Memory" from

DI credits? (isn't it the title of some whoopi goldberg movie?)

that is the first thing I found on google rofl.

on topic: Did you actually use the map you made a screenshot of aswell? Or was it PURELY made for screenshot purpose?
