It does kinda look like some machine from the classic Star Trek's view of what the future'd look like ^^;
Hmm...perhaps retro futuristic? Sometimes we think futuristic as so dramatically different than what we know that we forget that (so far) trends are a thirst for yesterdays. Kinda like how things from the 1950's make a comeback or that trends are leaning towards the 1980's. 50 years ago we were supposed to have silver foil everywhere and be on the moon...so a future 50 years from today might be dramatically different from what we consieve now. Granted we've learned to not be sooo....dramatic in futuristic designs now, (movies like Fifth Element, I Robot, Minority Report) keep things similar yet the technology is more advanced.
