The last film you saw

Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.

It was even worse then I had expected.
One can only hope that this was the last Pirates movie...

Nope they're making more Pirates films, and I'm happy at that, lol. On Stranger Tides definitely isn't the best in the series, the storyline was too linear compared to the others... oh well, I still enjoyed it, just not as much as I was hoping, lol.

As for the last film I saw... Spiderman 3, for the last 3 nights I've been watching the Spiderman films, so yeah...

It wasn't really the linear story that turned me off, it's more the retarded fantasy elements they keep adding to the movies, it just keeps getting worse!

Pirates 1: A cursed crew. (I liked this, it was a cool story)

Pirates 2: A ship that can dive, a captain that looks like an octopus who has an enormous beast as a pet. (This is where it started going downhill for me.)

Pirates 3: Davy Jones' locker.... Jack's ship sailing on Crabs or stones or Crabstones w/e and let's not forget the appearance of a goddess! (Calipso)

Pirates 4: A captain who's also a wizzzarrrrddd (Blackbeard) he uses Voodoo, can control his ship with his sword AND HIS SHIP HAS FLAMETHROWERS, wtf?!
The "magical" ship controlling bothered me the most in the scene where Jack and his fellow crewmates have pretty much captured Blackbeard's ship but then Blackbeard comes out of his cabin like: Heh, who cares? I'll just wave my little sword and you'll all get captured by the ship itself! :D

Oh and let's not forget mermaids, though they didin't bother me that much.

It's things like these that have ruined all the Pirates movies after nr. 1 for me...
The movies are still watchable, but not NEARLY as good as they could/should be!

Lion King 1 1/2 Hakuna Matatata

It was on Disney channel yesterday (Finally a Disney movie on Disney Channel!), and I've always wanted to see it.
I've got a soft spot for Disney, I find it really hard to hate anything they make and as a result I liked this movie.

Might not have been nearly as good as the original Lion King but it was worth the watch.

So today I went to the cinema with my girlfriend to see Tin Tin 3D...

... Wow.

Seriously, that film was bloody amazing, I mean, the pacing wasn't the best but it just looked and animated so beautifully, the 3D was just right (Not over the top or not just there for the heck of it), the story was really great too, and judging by the end of the film there could very well be a sequel, which I'd absolutely love if it they're planning another!

You guys need to get yourself to the cinema and watch this, it's such a masterpiece and everything was just brilliant, including the cast! (Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Andy Serkis AND Daniel Craig?!)

I'm seeing it as soon as it comes out, which is this wednesday. I thought Belgium was supposed to get the first release, but I guess we had the premiere or something? I haven't really followed stuff anymore since sometime but MAN AM I EXCITED TO SEE IT.
Did you see it in 3D? I have the bizarre feeling that the 3D might actually be good in this case, even though I'm usually not very interested in 3D at all.

Last movie I watched was Batman: Mask of the Phantasm. Just because I hadn't seen that yet and it's pretty good. I mean I was into it, the story was decent, the love interest I actually really cared for, the "twist" I saw coming from miles ahead, but still, very enjoyable for what it is.

Yeah I saw it in 3D, I don't think it'd feel the same if it wasn't in 3D to be honest, it just worked so perfectly, seriously, you're going to LOVE it... I need more people to watch it (Well, people that CAN since it isn't out for a while in US/Canada) so I can nerd the fuck out and talk about Tin Tin with them, lol

I mean, I was pretty bummed when I found out that I was watching Deathly Hallows: Part 2 in 3D on the premiere I went to because I always had the feeling it'd be stupid (and it was decent, it just didn't really add anything). The way I describe the 3D in that is "it doesn't really make the film any worse, but it didn't make it better".
Yet I have the feeling that Tintin would probably work really well because it /is/ computer generated (well, motion capture) and CGI 3D movies always do look a lot better. I'll probably be seeing it in 3D anyway - but I'll let you know what I thought of it as soon as I see it.

TINTIN AND THE SECRET OF THE UNICORN.

FUCK. YES. EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS MOVIE.

They way they set up Red Rackham's Treasure as the sequel was fantastically well done and I WANT IT NOW. Not that I wouldn't like Temple of the Sun to be a movie either it's my favorite Tintin comic and it was a musical in Belgium and it was glorious and I want SO MUCH MORE OF THIS.

Or even better: this movie is pretty and it's so much like the comics in atmosphere I can't even.

Last movie i saw was green lantern. I liked it, but compared to the comic, no. As just a movie, its worth seeing, but if you're the type that gets pissy if every detail from the original comic/book/series/whatever, than dont bother, because they dont follow it to the exact letter. Graphics were pretty good though, minus the cg for the big bad boss evil being character.

God yes, I told you that you'd love it lol, everything about the film was just so perfect wasn't it (Aside from the pacing but maybe that's just me...), lol, can't wait for the sequel!

The last film I watched was... My Neighbour Totoro

It's one of the only Studio Ghibli films I hadn't seen, but I watched it on Monday, and to be honest, it was a bit meh, definitely not one of their best, although it DID seem aimed at a younger audience than their other work

My Neighbour Totoro is definitely a lot more kiddy-oriented than other Ghibli movies. It's weird in the sense that it doesn't have much of a plot at all. Very light-hearted and fun, more similar to Ponyo than anything else.

It was one of my favourite movies when I was a little kid. I'd rent it almost every week. It still holds a special place in my heart <3
