I saw Rise of the Apes.
It was actually really good. I feel as if I should actually pay for it now. It hit the happy medium between making the script too simplistic in order to appeal to everyone and making the script "intelligent" to the point where it becomes convoluted.
It was about as "prequel" as a movie can get. The movie cuts off before humans really start dying from the virus and well before the apes actually take over. It set the ground work for the next films and it did it well.
