Soul Reaver 1: Nocturne Gospel

@monkeydlu: You do have a point, and yes did you watch CG, oh gosh it was bloody amazing.

@Keinaru: That was a pretty asshole thing I said, I think I over analyze things a bit. I'm sorry for being rude, I hope you continue to work on your game.

Hi.

The next person to blatantly flame someone, whether due to the game itself or a post that was made regarding it, will receive a warn. I've simply had enough of these petty squabbles in this thread recently, and so the member-hat is going off for the time being and the mod-hat is taking its place. If you wanna squabble, keep your language polite, and for godsake, keep it game-related. Leave your personal issues at the door. This is still a game development topic, and when nearly half of the recent posts have been angry responses directed at someone else's comment (and about long-dead issues, too! Trust me, dudes, everyone who brought up the artwork is by this point aware that Keinaru isn't doing anything illegal,) you know you have a problem.

Is it me or the only thing that makes this game looks "awesome" is because of the shinneh anime art?

oh and is keinaru japanese? I just noticed there's a "senpai" there.
And the story is a rip off of the game that Keinaru's art comes from. Well, partly. :V

And the dead part reminds me of Yu Yu Hakusho and a part of Seinarukana as well *shrugs* not to say it's bad or anything.

Because to be brutally honest, I noticed that the story is vague so I can't see what's "awesome" and the battle sprites makes me cringe. (Not the Battle portraits kapish? I dunno if it's still here but I remember seeing it and I Don't want to search halfway because my net is in dial up mode.)

And if fans are going to leap at me and grind me, I'm prepared for a long debate on why I find this game plain

well, theres...... but it's the way it's all being put together that's awesome I guess.

For now it's still development, and until theres actually a demo for show, it's hard to say beyond that, and the story is actually more so inspired from Shana, pretty sure anyways, only watched 2 eps of shanna and got bored of it.
(btw, bloody amazing doesn't describe this week's geass, it was omfg holy shi- someone shoot Nina amazing :D)

though, the battle sprites are a matter of opinion, the first aselia's battle sprites looked like crap to me >_> I still don't want to use them even though I have them, but... I'm not paitient nor good enough a spriter to make my own, so I can relate how she can save alot of time just using rips (though, I'm still not even half way decided to use rips cuz they just irk me that much)

I think the shinneh anime art is great, hey, if it got attention, it got attention, y/y? :D

The problem is the game's greatest attention is the ripped art and CG itself the battle sprites are blurred obviously badly ripped since the original game, the sprites are a tad bit harder to rip.

what if I make a game with the same art and cg will I get the same attention as well hmm?

btw, what does code geass have to do with this O.o

Btw I watched Shakugan no Shana, I guess I See your point there.

Maybe I should really get those Picture updated, at least, the Battlers, Skie said the same about how badly rip they are.

:x I'll get to it in a second.

-----Edit------

The Only new thing are the screenshot on at least the Sewer's Puzzle, Hide-&-Seek (Minigame), some maps screnshots without the Portraits & the Save Window, Removed the Battle Screenshots, added 2 of them, the rest are from either the screenshot thread or the same just reduced the size so many won't have to wait for them to finish. I'll post the others with the grammar fixed.

I wish all the characters do not have such confusing names. As in, Klyron? (at least he is the main protegonist). I don't know about the other characters, but bear this in mind - with the other characters looking similar to one another in terms of looks and hair length, getting the people to know them...well, this might be a little bit more difficult if the names are all mangled together and sound alike. And yes, I couldn't tell the difference between one girl and the other immediately and expect to know who they were, names and all, because they all look similar. Not the main characters in the video, I suppose, but the side characters I think you'd bring in as you have the resources to do so. Just a warning, really.

1 - Wait for a demo to be released, If there is gonna be one
2 - Are people really that different from each other; pertaining to hair length? and yes *cough* theres a hair color to remember xD
3 - This Characters has different Attitude and Characteristics, You'll start to get to know them once you can play it live!, Or start reviewing each background
4 - Names isn't that hard to remember, You just need a High Memory when it comes to remembering names
5 - Just correct me if im wrong xD i really dont know what im doing right now

@Keinaru
Nice Battle sprites btw, Thats way better than the old one
Keep improving them; Story, Characters, Scenes, System, Etc.

Not really. I can't see people coming all the way from other forums just so that they can post compliments on all her threads.

Then again, maybe I've never actually liked anything that much.

Keinaru, who made those new battlers? If it was you, I'm impressed. If not... Well, they still look good.

They where Rips from the Game Seinarukana. Sithlord999 ripped the sprites & animations along with the Sequel of Seinarukana itself as a request.

Added these in the first post.

1.) Do not Spam "Empty" Feedback
Saying something to the effect of, "That looks wrong, but I can't help you," is a waste of forum space.  Please tell a person why something looks wrong, even if you're not entirely sure what it is.  A response like, "That doesn't look right; I'm not sure why, but I think maybe the cliffs are off somehow," is much more helpful.

Other posts that are considered empty feedback would be, "good game", "this is bad", "I don't like it", ect.

Hmm, you know I kind of think that's sort of a lame rule. I can see how it would be useless in a concept development thread but in a project discussion this could be used to motivate the developer. Can't really see the harm here.

I think it's good to let the developer know what she's doing right, but just bumping a topic with empty praise just seems like spam to me. If you like a project, show your support by helping the maker improve her game, by giving her some compliments she can put to use figuring out what about the game is the best and what might need to be toned up.

I don't understand why people are so big on "motivating" with empty praise nowadays -- I think a lot of it is just done to force out updates from the creator or bump the topic. It'll make the creator go "oh, that's nice of her to say," but it doesn't really contribute anything -- the way I see it, the rule was instated so that both extremes were covered -- if your entire post is "looks good looking forward to the demo," that's about as useful to the creator as "looks bad dont make a demo," isn't it?

There's no harm, but there's no benefit either, and whether or not it's nice, it's still spammy.

Anyway, it's not a big deal, and no warns are gonna be handed out or anything like that -- I just get tired of supremely unhelpful posts, whether negative or positive.

Also you can pm that stuff to the developer.  Frankly If you really want to encourage them the best way to do it is to say something thoughtful.  Instead (I looked for five minutes)  Looks good d00d!  *increases post count*

@Fayte:  Adding to what Chimmy and Soph said (started writing then went afk before clicking post), no one wants to hear "your game is good."  We want to hear "your battle system is good" and etc.  When it's unspecific like that, it won't motivate a true amature game developer (I can see how it'll make kids think "yay my game is good").  We want to know what specificly is good, what really stands out.

Anyways, more on topic...  How far into a demo are you, Keinaru?  I'd like to see how this game turns out.
