The PS3, i would pick over 360 any day,

PS3 has blue tooth support and a browser, plus its a blue-ray movie player as well. As for the games, sure xbox may have alot more out there, but PS3 is finally getting their line up in. The ps3 has a greater physics engine and holds 8 processors, and supports 1080p on most of their games. If your an rpg fan, sony will be the one with most of the titles. Online is free. The blueray disc can hold twice of the hd disk that the xbox 360 can hold. That means developers can hold more content on a disc and less use of downloading to your hard drive. With the 8 processors, a ps3 game can have much more things running at the same time then the xbox 360. As for backward compatibility, u can choose to get the ps2 backward combatibility or not but if you dont have it you still have Ps1 compatibility. As for graphical questions, the only reason there would be problems is because of the developer, take lost planet for example the developers ported it over to the ps3 but never messed with development time on it. Besides Sony still cares for its gamers; you can tell by the way that they still sell PS2 systems, and are still releasing games, knowing that all people dont have enough cash money to spend on their system. What did Xbox do? they disbanded their console and stopped releasing games for the system.

PS3 can be used as a personal computer as well, so there are alot of things that are better, but it depends on what kind of games you like to play.

I love my PS3. Most 360 games (the ones I care about) are released on the PC (sometimes later, but always with more/refined content). And my PC kicks the living shit out of the 360 [hardware-wise I mean]. Sometimes ports are broken but all the 360>PC ports I've seen run beautifully.

I might get one someday, but so long as they always release the 360 things I care about on PC eventually, there's not much incentive. I mean I can't get downloadable 360 games like Braid, but I'm not going to buy a system for like 2 downloadable games :/

However, MGS and LBP are actually incentive enough for me to buy an entire system. And mine has backwards compatibility so I can retire my PS2.

Lastly, the 360 controller is gay. I hate it; the PS3 DualShock is 1.4million times better.

I'm not saying the 360 sucks. I just liked it slightly less when deciding upon which console to squander away a bunch of money on.

Right, and making easy to code for hardware with XNA and incredible userbase and programmer support is obviously evil, while bricking my PSP and making frustratingly hard to code jap-firmware on purpose is better? Microsoft might have problems with the PC and Windows, but their Xbox brand is leagues better than Sony's Playstation.

Microsoft is lawful evil, they have laws, ethics and codes, and generally don't actively do things bad, they just fuck up every once in a while. And they've been calming the fuck down since the era of corporate requisition (this post was brought to you by an iMac.)

Sony is neutral evil, doing whatever the fuck it wants and not giving a damn about anyone else.

Sony actively doesn't care about their customers, they don't. And they don't give a damn about that. Microsoft makes ads about ordinary people having fun using their products and connecting with one another, Sony on the other hand:

Makes blasphemous ads specifically for the Vatican in Italy.
Sony makes gaudy and OBVIOUSLY racially insensitive ads to promote their new PSP White system.
Sony even promoted the PSP with those annoying as fuck ads with the "urban" squirrels and "latino"... Dust... Bunny things.

Sony thought it was a good idea to put viruses on your computer because you had the gall to listen to your own goddamn music you bought and not warn you about it.

Sony stole Microsoft's achievement system, they copied the Wii's motion sensor control and slapped it unto the PS3 before anyone noticed how shitty their original batarang controller was, they stole the concept behind Second Life to make Home.

And y'know what, unlike Microsoft, or Apple, or Nintendo or ANY OTHER HARDWARE DEVELOPER Sony doesn't do these things out of ignorance, or as simple mistakes. They make these choices conciously. They conciously decide to be little fucking pricks, and that's what pisses me off. They're not racist, but they now people will go batshit nuts over their borderline racist ads. They know putting up an ad lampooning Jesus Christ by the Vatican probably wont fly with, y'know, the mother fucking pope. They know their hardware is fucking complicated as hell to create games for, and yet they just toss dev kits to companies and go "Eh, you'll figure it out." They haven't come up with a single original idea except for putting games on CDs (which, y'know, already done by motherfucking SegaCD.)

Microsoft brought their systems online, and promote multiplayer fun and connectivity.
Nintendo brings to the table new ways to interact with and think about games.

What has Sony done? Steal ideas and piss people off.

Yeah, Micro$oft are hardly the virgin mary when it comes to being not a total pile of shit, but Sony languishes in their douchebaggery. Languishes.

I like the Wii the most by far, but 360 is definately 2nd place.

Primarily because I can softmod them!  (that means make them play burnt games without a modchip, monkey)

I prefer ps3 as all of the sony products i have owned and still own have been reliable, I think it looks better, it has mgs4 and GT5. i also prefer the controls over the xbox. Im not gonna dis the 360 its just I dont like it and as for the wii the only game i'd buy smash bros. I think budget, game range & what your friends have should determine which system you buy.

For a start, lets not pretend the PS3 doesn't have any good exclusives except LBP.

Ratchet and Clank TOD - This game is a fucking blast, one of the only games I can't bring myself to trade-in.  Best platformer this generation either the 360 or the Ps3 has to offer.

Motorstorm 1 and 2 - Probably the most fun Arcade racer there is, the new one is far better too.

Uncharted - Too short but probably the best visuals of any game so far, great animation

Resistance 2 -  If biased IGN can give it 9.5 it must be half decent.

Plus Valkyria Chronicles, Wipeout HD and Siren: Bloodcurse.

The two real killer apps are LPB and Metal Gear Solid.  MGS4 is incredible and pretty decent in length too. I clocked in 22 hours or so and the cutscenes are probably shorter than some previous games ones.  Metla Gear Online comes with that and the only reason more people dont play is because Konami are fucking retards and make it a complete hassle on their own shitty network.

Soon to come Killzone 2 and White Knight Chronicles which I think are both sure bets to at least be "good".

A bit further off Gran Turismo, Final Fantasy Versus and God of War III that will all help to sell systems.

I also didn't ask for the blu ray but I love it.  I do have a HDTV so movies like that really make an impact, the PS3 upscales DVD's really well too.

Don't get me wrong, I want more exclusives but this Christmas is pretty good for gaming no matter what console you own (except gimmick wii)

I'll probably get a 360 when I both have enough money and an exclusive tips me.  I nearly did when Eternal Sonata came out so lucky I didnt buy it then.
