I can kinda get like this. I much prefer making mechanics and systems, than fleshing everything out into an actual game, haha.

Besides randomly hopping into RMXP to make some maps for fun, I haven't pursued anything game development related in years. Most of my narrative stuff is being incorporated into a homebrew DnD setting which, while sort of wasteful, is better than it staying in my head forever. Probably. I'm not a very good writer.

nostalgia time, these are screenies from my old mmo. walking around in it a bit to get that sense of wonder back, i still get it even now.

it blows my mind that they moved away from the xp mapping style, even shit maps fill me with wonder and i made the damn things. also having multiple layers of fog works wonders. maybe the goal of my mmo can just be to get 100% map completion? and then hope people stay to have fun and chill?
