I love MV. But it's not XP- to me, it serves a rather different purpose.
XP and I have always had a special relationship - since VX showed up and flipped my mapping style on its head, things just haven't been the same. I would have gone a different direction with the evolution of RM, personally. Nothing wrong with VX/A or MV. Just a matter of preference.
But yes, 16:9 60fps are definitely going to be available features. (Maybe not on by default, for compatibility reasons. But not hard to do.)
Once the editor and runtime are up, I'll be adding a tweaked RGSS as well, in order to better capitalize on modern systems (i.e. variable framerate), and probably add some little things like an in-game settings/keybinding menu.
