I half expected a bunch of natural disasters to hit the US around the same time during Trump's presidency. Not to sound like it wouldn't have happened without him. He wants to be great and I'm too pessimistic I can only think "What could go wrong?"
It's going to be one misfortune after another with barely any time to lick our wounds.
I'm picturing a dad that keeps pushing his kid into things, ignoring how miserable the kid is. And when it's all over the dad's like "See. You survived. I knew you could do it. Aren't you proud of yourself? You're a man now, I hardly recognize you."
And the kid has been replaced with 30-something dwarf with a 5 o'clock shadow the dad grabbed by mistake, while his real son is getting picked up by a biker gang at a gas station where he was left behind.

I wish I was an impressionable teenager again. I miss having obsessions and inspiration. I want something to love again.
I've got the urge to read Harry Potter. I think because it's the fall season and I'm remembering reading the books this time of year in the basement on a pull-out couch with the foam egg-crate mattress top. And how I made it my mission to read The Goblet of Fire the weekend it was released. Good times.
I also remember reading The Sword of truth series at my grandma's house. Again, on a pull-out couch in the basement. I couldn't sleep. I had to keep reading. There was a moth fluttering in the lamp shade. He was my reading buddy.
I dunno. Sometimes I wonder if the secret to feeling that magic is being in a dark secluded place where I can completely immerse myself into a story and not worry about my life or concern myself with tomorrow. That's getting harder for me to do.
I almost forgot how I used to cover up windows with blankets and play new video games in the dark.
I do everything unceremoniously on my computer these days, just whenever. Maybe I'm just not allowing anything the opportunity to hold my attention?

I only came back because hurricane Irma is about to gag me and peg my cute brown ass very soon. I didn't plan on returning, seriously. It just sorta happened. That 40% chance of being killed on Saturday had some influence.
Not a persona. Hybrida is just an ego maniac out to prove the inferiority of lesser sentient beings. A wonderful person who loves competition, bragging, and gloating. An excellent gamer, nuclear scientist, and creator of sci-fi stories.
In real life I'm exactly the same when it comes to games and competition. I just show more restraint with my words and ego in person. People get pissed so easily and reach for guns so quickly. LOL. Yeah I'm nice until we do something competitive... A very nice loving person, but has a PhD in pissing people off.

@HBG I miss the old days where we actually gave a damn about current global events. No mention of North Korea during my absence. Maybe you guys intentionally avoided talking about it because it would have summoned me... Oh, clever move.

WWIII is at our doorstep. India and China almost initiated a war last month. The US was nearly ready for a nuclear strike like the world has never seen. South Korea is currently requesting tactical nuclear missile support from the US.
Japan might be able to build a offensive military again after a 50 year ban. They might seek nuclear missiles too. China is pissed, and the US threatening to cancel trade with China for supporting North Korea.
Logical conclusion:
The population is too depleted for that kind of news activity here. I guess it's up to me to take the initiative.
I'm sure you all just acquire your news elsewhere anyway. You guys did talk about those alt-right rallies a few weeks ago. Congrats for that. Maybe you guys come here to escape all that bullshit. It would be logical.

Speaking of. Anyone got any ideas on good sleep remedies/habits that work for you? This year college and work will absorb my life and I know that if I don't get into a good routine with sleep I will suffer. I'm open to all suggestions, legal. Illegal. Ethical. Morally questionable.
