Art is hard.

I was gonna start up work on a game idea I've been fumbling with in my head, but then I ate a whole pizza and now the food-coma has embraced me, and smothered my motivation. Ah well... there's always... I'll find some time elsewhere eventually... playing games is for now.

I'm going to try to put this into words. But it's kind of an unconscious thing.
1)Without Milieu, most stories just aren't interesting to me.
2)As a kid, I consumed a lot of media all at once.

I've only noticed this recently, but Milieu sorta sticks in my head for a while. So if I move from a playing a game to watching a show, the lingering sense of Milieu from the game influences my perception of the show.
And I think that's a good thing. Sorta like how some food has no flavor so you add your own seasoning.

These days I consume media independently. I finish things completely before moving on to something else so I don't have that transference. When I was younger I'd play games between my show times and then go to bed reading a book. So I'm thinking I was only able to enjoy things because of all the other stuff I was immersed in.

I dunno what's wrong with my computer. Pretty sure it's not a virus. Scans aren't detecting anything. But there's a hundred things wrong with it. I think most of it has to do with bad DLL files. I can fix some things by uninstalling and reinstalling programs.
But there's stuff I can't reinstall, like Windows Media Player, and the system file checker just makes things worst, where it'll sit on a black screen after I restart.
I keep doing restore points.

Considering implementing an ABS in my game with live player-vs-player combat.

This would be a lot of work. How often do you expect players to be live and around to initiate PvP?
You'd have to focus more on the PvE and leave PvP as a nice-to-have option.

Also, isn't it SQL? You'll end up having to have the ATB timers client-side, which means players could hack and force the timer to 100% constantly and schedule constant attacks.

This is probably doable in Firebase real-time database, which is what I'd use if I were to do a commercial MV project.
