grinding for noire battle right at the start of the game and got shit on by some op bunny fucker

EDIT: came back to it, bought 3 life rings and game is ez mode again god damn this shit is unbalanced lmao
EDIT2: nvm noire still wipes the floor with me even with full lvl 12 party and 3 life rings what the fuck
EDIT3: grinding mech dungeon atm, currently lvl 15. hopefully i can actually progress soon

I've got all the DLC as part of this version, and I may buy it after the story progresses depending on how it goes.
I like the idea of the series and the characters 'n shit, but this isn't really fun at the moment - a total grind fest. Ima try to get past this bit in the next 3 hours and if I make it I'll buy it.
Is the rest of the game like this?

It's a good series and the DLC makes it freaking easy to blast through. If you play ReBi2 or ReBi3 check out the Stella's Dungeon mini-game and try to master it. It's the same type game-play the game I'm making has, but Stella's Dungeon has zero interaction during the excursions (which are timer-based).

I noticed I picked up some party members that were from the DLC, and while they'd make the game easier, it also feels like cheating.
I now know that levels actually change a shitload, because initially I didn't think levels did a whole lot.
