Just came up with another freaking cool idea; utilise the "Share" feature on most phones to be able to share content to your virtual buddy and have them comment on it. As an example, share a youtube video and the virtual buddy can comment on its popularity - and then share the content to other buddies that she encounters on their adventures during the day.
If I went down the route of 3D dolls (which I'm leaning more and more towards) then I can even give them little virtual smart-phones and they could hold up the phone screen to you and have the content rendered in mini-resolution on this little phone as they tell you their feelings about it.
Things like photos could get down-sampled to a single colour and they can talk about it in relation to their favourite colour or whatever.

I'm going to start prototypes in the coming week. Anyone with an Android device is welcome to test them out. Won't be any graphics or anything amazing for a while, need to figure out the game-play. First prototype will basically report when you're near other players (like a broad-range street pass) and will tell you roughly (very roughly, I'm not tracking fine location) how far away the nearest player is.
That involves an account system (I'm having it login via Google, Facebook or Twitter) and rough location reporting (storing the day's locations on the server) and comparing against other players' locations.
EDIT: I really hate the idea of storing user's rough locations in a history on a server. I'd love to just build a street-pass system so everything is handled by the app. There isn't a single good way to do this, I may end up writing a library that attempts it via different means. In an ideal world, this game would just be streetpass + pedometer.

Saying that Kojima has no say in the MG chronology because he fucked the story of MGSV, and saying Konami decides it is stupid, because in the end the reason MGSV had a fucked story is because of all the bullshit Konami forced on Kojima I like MGSV, it had issues with story, but whose fault was it that it had an unfinished mission? Konami. All in all though Kojima is the creator of the Metal Gear Series, so in my eyes, he's the one that gets the final say in the canon.
