I was digging up weeds infront of my house. They grow back every year and have these long tubers that I pull out by hand once I raise up a mound of dirt with a shovel.
Well I started to reach for one mound when a little lizard poked it's head out of the ground.
And I'm like, oh. Aw, did I disturb yo-- Oh Geezus Christ! And it starts worming out of the ground. It's this long fat skink.
I've only seen small skinny ones. They're the ones who's tails come off when scared (or is that most lizards?)
hard to find a good picture of what I saw. It zipped off into the grass pretty fast. But i was like 10 feet in the air, I was not expecting something that big. They almost look like snakes.
