Pixel Art WIPs/Small Things Thread

thanks, I'll work on it on my spare time! ^^

as for your Zombies, the blood is real cool, that fat zombie also reminds me of Left4Dead, the fatass Boomer Zombie. ;)

thanks. I actually got the idea to give the bigger zombie a massive stomach from the promotional trailer of Left 4 Dead 2. So yeah.

Right Fox?

Here is my own version of a "Bomb" (like in FF series...). Please C&C anything and everything; for instance how to improve the shape of the flames on his head, and make them look more authentic. How about what you think of the eyebrows/eyes, the nose, the mouth... should I go into detail and try to add teeth/tounge, or do you think that'd be 'too much' detail?

Nothing is shaded because quite honestly I don't know how to go about shading a 'flaming' object, where the object itself is its own lightsource. If anybody could give me some pointers, hell feel free to make your own edits if you need to show me what I could do to improve this one.

Alrighty! Here's the first character (one frame fer now) with the newest HK.
I'm not so wild about the ripped shirt area but i'm out on this character for the day :D, this character started out as a pumpkin headed specter..monster, i was going to drape him in some dark clothing (think Harry Potter Dementor) but then The Headless Horseman popped into my head and i went a different direction.

Cool! Hmm maybe cutting off the two top corner pixels for the shoe might help there, test it out i will.
E- Yup looks betta for this character :thumb:
E- A few pixels fixed for the lighting on those pants, but i wont bother to upload that of coarse.
Anyway! Here's a little somewhat useless picture tutorial, how to go about making your own simple barrel. Enjoy and zoom in invisible people ^^.

I know I'm not as good as ya'll at this pixelling stuff, but no C&C or words of wisdom? I'm gonna do a gradient effect and blend the head in with the fire, but... shading... how do you 'shade' a flaming object?

@WalkingAbomination : Nice job on the barrel I can learn from it, and thats some wicked work on the pumkin head guy, good job :thumb:

@tindy : Left face looks better... don't know why but it does. The maid in the blue dress is slowly improving, the only thing that bugs me is the apron; it animates nicely, but the shape of it on her left-hand side looks like it should wrap around and it doesn't.

That's cool looking man. Are you using a set palette for all your stuff or are you just making them as you go ? =)

My take on the "real iron man" off of popsci...

I've never sprited before, so criticism welcomed,
The "old" one I made with colors on the fly,
the "new" one uses palettes off colormagix

Thanks ^^, i've never used a palette before man, i just edit the colors as i go along. I've been experimenting with color now and then too that's how i got that (imo) cool color match on the boots ^^

Created on Photoshop? I say this because the images are really blurry. If you're just starting out i say don't do blur at all..AT ALL ^^, use MsPaint or Idraw or Graphics Gale bud.
